Thanks to the both of you for your comments... i hadn't even considered deleting that whole screen and re-doing it... that did the job for me. Its amazing how much easier things are when you just simplify everything

Glad I could help. My sister encountered something similar before. We all learn from each other.
One thing I noticed that this happens when launchers force close. It messes up the screen when it tries to reload it again. Funny thing is, my sister liked what it messed up the first time, and she was spending a good deal of time trying to replicate what happened. hahaha
