anonymous text messages

Every once in a while I receive an empty text message that says the sender is anonymous and has no phone number assigned to it. It also shows as being saved to the sim card, which is weird coz the others arent! anyone ever received anything like this too? I didnt get this on my old Sony Ericsson w995 which used the same sim and plan that i am on now!

I'd contact your mobile supplier, they'll be able to check their logs and see where it's coming from.
 
In the message app go to SIM and delete the SIM messages there.

It's simply the phone detecting this message & reminding you its still there
 
I get my anonymous msg problem after I've had the new voicemail. It seems the phone stores the msg on the sim and every reboot it puts it back into my sms app (either stock or Handcent) - as nx1977 says just delete it ;-)
 
I get the anonymous message everytime I switch my phone off and on. Do we know what the message is about yet?
 
I noticed 1 of these this morning, my messages icon said i had a new text when when going to my messages there was no new text there but there was an anonymous message. I figured it was me as id accidently(in my pocket) gone to start a text but didnt write anything and closed it
 
They arent new messages, it's the SAME ONE!

As above, in message app menu> and find SIM messages. Delete any SIM messages, problem will cease.
 
This was covered recently guys..check back..I seem to get it after a voicemail/switching on and off. Are you on orange?.think it was only us on orange that had this strange thing happening if I remember! Bizarre!
 
It was me who started the last thread, indeed the message is saved onto your SIM as NX1977 said delete it off your SIM and it will stop although I have received one again recently which i had to delete off the SIM again.

Same here, I had one pop again soon after deleting the first one.
 
ah. sorry didnt see a previous thread! should probably search a little harder! my bad!
well, yeah i have deleted everyone i have that i have seen pop up and it does indeed come back!!

now i will see if it happens in relation to voicemails! i was worried it might be a virus or malfunction!

I got a text message every now and then with no content. Immediately after the first one, my memory card was corrupted and the data was lost - I had to reformat the card in the end. Is it possible these message are some sort of attempted virus attack?
 
:) as is mentioned in most of the threads (and this one by me earlier); It's the voicemail / caller missed msg that Orange sends EVERYTIME you have a vm msg etc.

The phone stores them on the sim and re-presents them to the msg app every time you reboot.
 
Or it can be someone with xposed and hushsms. You should see some of the s*** I send my friends. They think either the government's after them or they have voices in their head. Really good program.
