Help Another NAVIGATION question

After trying it a few times, I like using the NAV app on my phone, except the voice is hard to hear if the vehicle's radio is on. Is there any way to get the NAV voice sound to play through my truck radio? Ideally, I'd like it to be like the NAV system in our Murano, where when listening to the radio, it will briefly stop playing whenever the NAV voice is speaking. Can this be done with the Optimus?

Sure. If the Optimus nav is going through the aux jack on your car stereo, and so is the music you are listening to, then it will pause the music to give you the nav direction.

What about if you are just listening to the vehicle's radio, and not music from the phone? Will it also pause the radio somehow?

Probably not. The factory car radio has no way to know that it should pause/mute when navigation directions are given by the phone.

My Nav only pauses music it can control, the music coming from my phone. Whether that's mp3s stored on my card or Pandora or some streaming radio station doesn't matter.

When I have my phone playing music through my car stereo speakers, I can't use the radio anyway - I have to set my stereo to AUX input. Your setup may be different.

Worth noting that only Google Nav does the pause for me, and has its own volume setting separate from media as well. I have another Nav app and it uses the media volume and doesn't interrupt music.

Thanks for the info. One final question on this, is there a standardized type of cable that I'd need to connect my phone to my radio's aux input?
