Root Another new been question

Hello all. I'm trying to root my evo 4G without losing my flash. I was trying to use the unrevoked program. I have a problem when trying to install the drivers for my phone. The htc diag driver will not install. Please help. Thanks in advance

First we need to know what hboot you have. Power off making sure that fastboot is disabled. Settings > apps > uncheck fastboot then hold power + vol down.

ok that is why unrevoked will not work. so it looks like you took the recent ota which you should never do if you plan on rooting the phone. with each new ota previous exploits that were used to root the phone will get closed up. now rooting the phone is much more complicated. you will need to use this guide:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html.

thanks, i didnt flash my phone , i had it flashed. hopefully ii could figure it out. im starting to feel really ******ed lol
