Picked up my first Android phone yesterday, the Motorola Droid. I've been using smartphones for the last three years, starting with a Samsung Blackjack WinMo phone and moving through the paces of the iPhone (all three of them). I like to try new phones out because I'm quite the tech geek, so I have also had some time with the Blackberry Storm and Bold.
Currently I have the iPhone 3GS as my primary phone, and am a big believer in the Apple platform (all of my personal computers are macs). I am also a big proponent of the FOSS movement, so of course Android has always been of interest.
Anyways, to get to the point, my fiance and I were out and about yesterday and stopped to play with the droid. We had been following the tech news and reviews about it for a while, so it was nice to be able to see the final manifestation. Unfortunately for my pocketbook, I was totally impressed. I went to Best Buy late last night and signed up for Verizon so I could really put the Droid through its paces. Its been almost 24 hours and I haven't touched my iPhone.
So I suppose that will do for my long-winded introduction. I'm really liking the forum, its been a great help for apps and general Android 2.0 stuff, and it seems like there are a lot of great people on here.
Thanks for the great site!
