or perhaps the battery is too dead ?

what level do you have on the batt when you plug the phone [OFF] and let it charge ?

So the battery is charging normally under "power off" ?

i looked aroung , used a tool ' unbrickable ' and managed to lit 2 buttons on the phone but i get stuck when i am supposed to flash the image
how do i do that ??
help out a noob please !

You could try to get it fixed if you are still under warranty ,it can't be opened ,so they will not notice the "unlocked" part ,IF you are rooted ...i don't know what to say about this ,it's very strange .

Also ,if you say that you are getting stuck when you try to flash the image ,you are in FASTBOOT or in recovery ?
-if you are in recovery ,flash a custom recovery from HERE >> Search Nexus S/4G [what ever you have] ,put the downloaded file under /Android/SDK/Platform-tools/ folder and remane it to "recovery" so it will be "recovery.img" and flash it from CMD with this line : " fastboot flash recovery recovery.img " in the FASTBOOT menu of the phone.

In case this works and you can enter recovery >> WITHOUT RESTARTING YOUR PHONE !! << and try not to disconnect it this time :) ...go to "mounts & storage" and search for "mount" ,select it and leave it like that ...download a ROM from HERE [fastest 4.0.4 ICS ROM available] put it on your SD partition and install it from recovery !

If you are NOT rooted ,i wrote this for nothing and will need to walk you through some steps... but only if you can get in fastboot on your phone :)
