I am getting message "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later" Does this mean that there are so many people downloading that the server is busy or do I have some other issue?
Busy.

How do I reset the phone?
I thought 5.5.893 rolled out to everyone? Interesting. Have you tried downloading it from moto's website?
I downloaded the file twice renamed one update.zip and left the other alone dropped both in the root directory but when I go into recovery to update I can't see either file any suggestions?
Just hold off updating this OTA.
The Moto support forum mod claims it was a mistake. Pushed before testing was complete to a few lucky souls.
The rest of us mortals will have to continue to wait.

Do you have the URL for the download page?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the waiting continues...
I thought I saw it on their website. Apparently I can't find it. I can't even find those PDFs we saw a couple weeks ago.
If you download the OTA it must be updated via Stock Recovery and not CWM. To enter Stock Recovery you must hold the volume keys while it's powering up. You should get a droid with an exclamation mark and a blank screen. Press the volume up key and it should pop up a menu. From there you should be able to open the OTA files.
I have tried the soft reset method you descibe but cannot get it to work. Last tried yesterday after first "BSOD" since the previous update a week ago (Had to use the finger nail technique to remove the battery). Does it matter what order one pushes the buttons?Soft reset ... hold down Volume Up/Volume Down/Power until the menu appears and then disappears.
Factory reset ... a next to last resort wiping data ... why sould you do it?

I'm jumping on board to flash this puppy. I have the file and I'm hitting it as hard as possible - I want this stupid flash failed error message gone lol.
I'm a guinea pig enough to know that I really really want this new file. A user above said he was on 5.7.893 with stuff hidden and it worked fine, so, I'm about to do the same....
Is this update still being rolled out or has it been stopped? I have a non rooted Bionic and every time I try to get update I get message try later.
It gave me a sideload error - I don't think it likes me having the full 5.7.893 on the system.
Which is rather odd, since someone else posted that they had 5.7.893 and it applied.
I gotta figure this out.

Lol yeah, as you saw in my other post.
Someone has presented me a way to revert the kernel - it fails to boot after that (soft bricked), but since you will already have reverted everything else, you'll have a fully stock phone in your hands - and that means you can apply 5.5.893 or 5.7.893 or 5.8.894 or do 5.5.893 --> 5.9.901 - like I am doing right now.
I love these guys!
BOOM! I'm now on 5.9.901![]()
