Hello Folks
Sorry to bother you but I'm still new with the Android OS so please bear with me.

I thought that I could at any time put my phone horizontally and it would then put the screen in that position but its not doing that so what I have I done to it

Also, how do I back up my stuff? I think I have read that I need a Google accnt. so please explain that one to me also..

In order to have the phone automatically switch orientation you need to make sure it is set to that in your settings.

And in order to set up an Android phone properly you do need to have a google account. It will ask you for it when powering on the phone. You can also back up a lot of things to your google account.
