another storm coming

I have friends who live in Cebu, fortunately they have just had heavy rain and high winds. My heart goes out to those affected, some of whom had not gotten over last year's Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). The Philippines look to be a beautiful place to live, but as my friend says paradise has it's draw backs. :(
 
I spent 2 years in the Philippines as an LDS missionary from 09-11. Although I spent the whole time in the northern Luzon, my heart goes out to the people of Visayas as this storm hits them. Having watched them rebuild their lives after typhoons in the past, I am amazed by how resilient they are. They complain less about their homes being destroyed than most of us complain about waiting 15 minutes in the drive-thru.


To any of our members that might be in the area, I hope you are safe.
 
My father had to cut his business trip short to avoid the storm. He spent 4 weeks in India and a week in Singapore. He would have flown to Manila if the storm never hit.
