Another USB charging issue

I am now having an issue with my Triumph that seems both hardware and maybe software related. So when it's plugged in to the mini USB, what seems to happen is it charges to 100% and then red LED begins to start flashing like a message waiting indicator and the phone begins discharging at that point. Unplugging it and plugging it back in will cause it to begin charging back up to 100%. This has only begun to happen in the last few days.

The other issue I am seeing is that if I push down at the base of the USB charging cord (at the end plugged into the phone), the phone ceases to charge. My guess is it breaks contact with the leads. This may or may not be coinciding with the phone's new habit of beginning to discharge when full charge is reached.

This phone, unfortunately, may have to go back to Best Buy. This is unfortunate considering that I have been having no other issues with the phone itself.

Those items seem related. If you've got a flakey like that where physical repositioning of the cable by a small amount causes it to charge / not charge, it's likely there's a hairline fracture of a printed circuit board trace, or a cold solder joint somewhere in the proximity of the connector that causes intermittent connectivity when the board is flexed or temperature soaked.
