Another video update on the blog

I am looking forward to the updates looking very nice, I like the fact if you add apps to your home screen there isn't some much space between the next line of apps.

New phonebook will be interesting, but if not using TIMESCAPE it appears most of those features will be useless

Apparently the facebook/google contacts syncing is part of the update.

You can still sync it now, however you just need to download a facebook app on the market but it only does the display pic and doesn't really link your contacts with their facebook account, so just display pic and no status update unless you link their status manually.

I link most of my contacts with facebook, and it displays their status, but never found a way to update their display pic

No change to in call volume?! They must be having a laugh. This is absolutely ridiculous.

I think its hilarious that folks have been waiting for 2.1 and convincing themselves that the incall volume would be increased

The X10 is a phone and if SE could have made the volume louder they would have by now, not that I have been saying the same thing for months now

I don't see any reason why they couldn't increase the volume. In the test menu the volume is alot louder than usual

I remember try the test menu volume and it sounded the same to me???

I cant even go back and check :(

But as I have said before, why would SE wait till 2.1 to boost the volume? The thing is a phone and the most important part of a phone is the incall volume???

I dont, I want a longer lasting battery and a better res to the screen as pictures on it show really bad banding on the colours.

Because I had an answer from sony ericsson saying that android 1.6 was the problem and that upgrade would fix problem!

i seem to remember SE stating somewhere that the 2.1 update will not touch the in call volume

from Rikard Skogberg

On low in-call volume

“I’ve answered the question around in-call volume before and as I understand it the optimization that was possible in SW should already be done in the earlier updates. I haven’t seen any information on measurable improvements in this update and I haven’t noticed any major difference personally either, sorry.”

The test volume is more than twice as loud on mine.

Also, I agree with what you've said about why would they wait till 2.1

I got this reply from SE last month about low in call volume..

Hi John,

This is a known issue for Sony Ericsson. As of this moment, there's nothing that we can do to fix this issue. Probably with the upcoming upgrade to the Android 2.1 operating system, the problem might be solved. However, we don't have specific information at this moment.
