Root another white screen. plz help

I had Cyanogen 6.1 on my Evo but it didn't strike my fancy, and now I wanted to try VaelPack 2.3, looks good. I went to my clockwork recovery and wiped data/cache and proceeded to pick my .zip from the sdcard. Well it was going then
E:Can't symlink /system/xbin/zcip
E:Faliure at line 69
symlink busybox SYSTEM:xbin/zcip
Installation aborted.

any one have any suggestions?

would like functionality of my phone soon.

Have you tried flashing a different rom to see if you still get the same error?
