Help Answering a phone call near my computer = Wierd Sound

DjZephy

Lurker
Sometimes when I answer the phone there is a very loud metallic sound when someone speaks. The sound only occurs while they are speaking. It is so loud that I can barely hear their voice, and I have to hang up and call them back. The thing I noticed it that I only remember it happening when I answer the phone when I am on my computer.

Anyone know about this problem? Is it just a coincidence? I am asking this question mostly for the sake of my curiosity. Thanks.

Are you also by chance sitting by a rheostat (light dimmer)?

I have one in my house that wrecks my phone's sound quality on both ends of the phone.

This might or might not be related, but a while back when computer speakers weren't shielded that well, it would make my phone go nuts or vice versa.
