Hi

Has anyone of you tried connecting to a ANT+ device using the X8 or X10mini? If so please share your experience with it. Thanks :-)

Hello,
I've just started to use my Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 android phone connected with my Garmin Ant+ HR, Cadence and speed sensors for my bike training.

And yes it works great.

I can read them with the Ant+ Demo apps and much useful, Endomondo, the android sport application, can read theme also and record the ant+ data together with the GPS and other data.

Instal ANT+ Radio service was a bit tricky, as Android Market was finding my phone as not compatible, so I had to use Android Injector, and get the .apk file from thisisant to instal ANt+ radio service.

Now it works and this is great !

Regards

Hi

I'm using a Garming ANT+ heart rate belt, with the X10 Mini and Endomondo. This works with no problems. Heart rate is logged also on the web site and presented troughout the track.

It works great.

I just bought a SonyEricsson XPERIA Pro and a Xperia mini Pro for my wife and me. I tried to test the functionality of the ANT+ support. I own a Garmin Ant+ HR and a Cadence / speed sensor from Wahoo fitness. Neither the ANT+ Demo nor the Endomodo not other apps show me a connected ANT+ device.

I only was able to try to activate the speed sensor using the delivered magnet. The Garmin HR is packed quite hard and I want send it back if the phone does not work with ANT+.

Now I'm not sure which parts of the game are not working. Is it the Xperia (Mini Por:Android 2.3.3, Pro: 2.3.4). Is it the update to the Android ANT+ Radio service I've got via the Android Marketplace. Or is the Wahoo speed sensor broken?

Should the ANT+ Demo find the Garmin HR without wearing it? Or ist it only activating when it recognizes a human?

Does anybody have a Video?

Thanks a lot...

Hi Mawadre

I'm not sure what is happening to your setup. The different equipment you have specified should be able to work with each other.

Are you able to test the Garmin HR and Cadence sensor with something else to make sure they are working ok ?

To pair the Garmin HR with the Xperia you need to "start" the HR device by wearing it around your chest. From endomondo in settings you are able to "search" for the device and pair with it.
If this is not working you might try a factory reset and install endomondo app, and the 'ANT Radio Service' from the android market. This is ANT, the Wireless Sensor Network Solution

I do not beleive the demo is checking any exernal devices.
