Root AnthraX Kernel Updated

Chingling

Android Enthusiast
Just wanted to share the news that Chad has finally updated AnthraX over at his site! Patience has paid off. You can find it in the Evo 3D CDMA section, under the thread "8660 Developers". Chad has not released a flashable yet, but he has released a download with the zImage and modules. Transferring these to a flashable zip will get you going. I can confirm this working with PACman 4.2.2! Nothing broken :D All thanks go to Chad.

Very surprising indeed. Not sure if he will continue development, but I am very grateful for this update.

I've been blocked from the development forums at anthrax.us for seemingly no reason at all. That sucks i was always first in line for the new anthrax kernels and now i can't even see the DEV topics anymore.... GRRRR :(

I was banned for being inactive... Because I didn't post...

Heaven forbid I read at a forum

That's odd. When I'm logged on to my account, there's a banner above my activity that states that I cannot download files due to not being approved (even though I have been approved for a while) but I can still download files. Are you not able to access the dev forum at all?

Yeah I posted every time I got the inactive message, just hoping that I'd need it again someday. That's too bad guys, I'd upload it for you all if I could.
We need to see when/if it is posted as a complete installation file on the Anthrax site then we can check on alternatives for passing it on to users that have previously registered on the anthrax-kernels.us website. I'm pretty sure that CG doesn't want the bits he posted so far widely distributed.

I went through all the nonsense to register, get approved, make a welcome post get approved again, and my account was deleted a few days later. What I do know is both Anthrax and BT run at higher voltages than Mac and have worse battery life, and the stock kernel from the March 2013 OTA with a rooted stock ROM and the usual stuff disabled, has the best battery life of any setup I tried.

Yeah, right now I am unsure how that will work, so I am just relaying news. So many people thought development was dead, and now one last update is back up, but few can get it.

That is true, but IMO, AnthraX runs smoother than any kernel that I have ever tried and, surprisingly, battery life has been the best.

I'm shocked this hasn't already turned into Chad-bashing.

Although given I'm locked out of development threads too, it's really hard not to want to go down that road

Off topic question.. But how did you change the color to the ROM? I can change the icon colors, But I cant find where to change the glow color of your selection. o.O

That doesn't preclude his rules from being silly.

If I had to go through everything he has had to do in the past few years for something I consider a hobby, I'd outright stop sharing my work. The fact that he keeps sharing is amazing. I have no problem jumping through a few hoops to use his kernels.

The good news is, you don't have to agree with his rules. Don't use his forums or download his work and you're unaffected by it.

Now, back on topic :)
