How long does it take for you to be approved before you can download from the site? I signed up and posted in the welcome thread days ago and have not heard anything back yet. I am just wondering when I should be hearing something back.
 
I think u have to post like 5 times, or 25 times I forgot which.
And they have to help someone or carry on with a conversation happening
 
Last I knew, you only had to have one approved post. Did your post show up yet? If so, it was approved, and you should have download privileges. There were some issues with the site recently, so something may have gotten lost in the shuffle -- you may want to try posting again.
 
Yeah you just need 1 post in the introduction thread and then a mod usually approves you within a few hours for download priveleges. After that your first 5 posts are moderated, just to keep the drama to a minimum. Then you can post freely without mod approval.
 
You only need one post to be approved but it helps if you have a few, so they can see that you're actually there to be an active member and not just for the downloads.

Chad, the owner of the site and author of the kernels doesn't want the files to be shared or included in roms without his permission. If you really don't want to sign up then just extract it from one of the roms that includes it. But just to show support to an exceptional dev I would just join his site and jump through the minimal hoops that he requires.
