Anti virus malware strategy

What is the best without additional costs approach to mitigate this risks in android
android does not need antivirus or malware programs. you just need to be wary of what you download or install on your device. i have never installed anything on my phone to this day. and i have owned android phones since its inception. if you want to install something than i recommend malwarebyte's 2024 Antivirus for Android | Android Trojan Protection. it is free on google play.

I had always believe android is safe but malicious app / pop up did get installed even though I was vigilant against installing non trusted app. So hope to get some better strategy.

again you can try malwarebytes, if you like.

also if you do get malware, you will just have to un-install apps that you recently installed. and work your way backwards. deleting the app will get rid of most malware. finding the culprit is the hard part.

Don't be fooled by ad pop ups and such.
This is adware that you can control by installing an ad blocker, such as Adguard.
I've used it for years without any ads or intrusive pop ups using browsers and apps on my devices.
Install it, and it will ask permission to run a VPN.
Agree and let it do it's thing in the background.
