Root Anti Virus Question

So i rooted my phone... and when AVG does its little run though it says that z4root has a virus in it... so if i unintall Z4Root does that get rid of my root?

Yes, you will lose root. I'm not surprised AVG thinks it's a virus, because it technically is a rootkit. However, that's what they call a false positive. Yes, it's made to gain root on the phone, but no, it's not malicious. You can safely ignore the warning from AVG. Or you could try Lookout, which never once chirped about z4root while I used it.
