Any apps or anything to improve rear camera?

I like this thing and really want the ability to use it as a smartphone substitute but the rear camera is just not up to it.

Has anyone tried any apps or anything that has improved it?

You really can't improve it if the sensor is really bad. You can try a different camera app, but the quality won't improve much since you'll only be replacing the software processing part. If the lens and sensor is the problem, you don't have any choice.

I thought that was the case; I thought I'd seen it help with other devices.
