Help Any Apps that are known to cause problems?

Try going back to the standard android keyboard.

Is your data while screen is off enabled to disabled? I wonder if it could be restoring connection and then syncing stuff.

Cool. I don't think I've ever messed with those. i'll check it out.

Okay. I set it up to stay on when the screen is off. so far so good.

I'd also try freezing these:
HeyTell 2.0.4.256 (com.heytell)
ROM Manager 4.5.0.1 (com.koushikdutta.rommanager)
Spy Tools - Stealth Camera_Lite 1.4 (com.dexterltd.spy_camera_lite)
Twitter 2.1.2 (com.twitter.android)

Doesn't hurt to freeze and thaw out 1 at a time. Can you list your running services? What's your Launcher?

I haven't frozen Heytell or anything else yet because frankly, it's been running smooth all night. Since the change in the wifi sleep policy, if I'm remembering right. I have that set to 'never' so it's not waking up every time I fire up the phone.
Think I'll give it another day. If it's still running smoothly, I'll start thawing out my apps one at a time. I'll be sure to report back with anything of interest. Really appreciate the help around here. Just an awesome troubleshooting session.

Almost a week and the phone has never run better. I've rolled frozen apps back out with great success. Really nice. I'm convinced it was the sleep policy, so if anyone stumbles in here looking for an answer to freezing problems, try that first. I set mine to never and I've been golden since. Checked a bunch of friends' phones and found that they're all set to 'never' as well. Live and learn. Thanks again.

I've heard facebook app can cause problems, but don't know for sure.

But a tip I have learned is if your phone doesn't respond to a touch or button, just leave it for a minute or two and it will usually catch up to speed. if you keep hitting buttons, it will freeze, then you have to take the battery out and reboot.
Very good and practical advice indeed.

What type of battery off charge times are you getting with the "never sleep" setting and whats your battery temp when you turn on the screen?

If anything, I'm getting better battery life. On an average day, with moderate use, it's only on the charger while I sleep. Lasts a full day, easily. I'd read somewhere that the never sleep option is easier on the battery because it's not constantly sleeping, waking, sleeping, waking. I have my timeout set at 2 minutes so that was a lot of stopping and starting.

Sounds good. What is your battery temp when you turn on the screen in a air conditioned climate?

Okay, in a 63 degree room, my battery temp is showing 16 degrees celsius/60.8 degrees Fahrenheit. I have no idea what's good and what's not as far as that goes.

Well, it is somewhat doubtful that the battery would actually be cooler than the air around the phone.

The only reason why I asked about the temp,is with it set to never sleep the CPU would not be able to go into the deep sleep(I think this is correct, but now,not so sure) and would instead be set to the min. CPU speed(might run a shade hotter). You phones temp looks good. In comparison ,mine in a 77 degree house after waking it from a deep sleep shows 19C.

Looks like you have discovered a cure that won't cause any residual problems down the road.

That's because my phone is just so coooool.

I installed "Battery Mix" a couple weeks ago wanting to see how particular apps effected drain. Minimalistic Text, and Battery Mix are at the top of the list. My battery life isn't too bad as long as I keep my phone in airplane mode in low/no signal areas, but I like to keep battery hogs off the phone. Uninstalled Battery Mix, looking into good substitutes for Minimalistic Text.
