Im not looking for bbm for Android but something simalair. A chat app specially for Android users. Anything like this.

Yeah, I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but doesn't Google Talk serve the same purpose? After all, you can't have an android phone without a google account

I've been looking for the same thing since leaving the blackberry world. The only think I miss from there is BBM.

Been using Talk a little, but the interface is just not as seamless and polished as BBM. Friends of mine using on their phones get logged off regularly, although I have not experienced that problem.

Pretty sure you arent actually logged off unless you turn off your phone. My friends sometimes appear logged off or 'unavailable' but once pinged they are in fact available.

Yeah gtalk works just fine for that. as for logging off, this is why you try to avoid task killers as much as possible.

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.

Check out Whatsapp. Its very similiar to Bbm which we know is on a closed platform. Whatsapp is used across all platforms Iphone, Android, Nokia and BB. Trust me its hugely popular.

KIK Messenger is a cross platform instant messenger program thats really close to BBIM.

Kik Messenger - Android

(Cross Platform = works on BB, Android, Iphone but not sure about any others)

I would just use google Talk but it seems to go Offline when people are making calls.

Make sure that they aren't set to switch to the "away" status when their screens are off. To find out, enter the app and hit the menu button. One of the choices should be an "automatic away" option, so be sure that it is NOT checked. Hope that helps!

LiveProfile
To me it's almost like BBM , you can change your status and pictures.
You can talk to people that have Android , Iphones and BB.
You also have your own LP pin.

I'd say the closest would be LiveProfile, with what having a pin and all that. Whatsapp is far more easier to set up, since it uses the phone numbers of your contacts to connect the apps across phones (and platforms). The former is free, the latter has a 1-year trial after which you have to do yearly pays to keep using it.
