Root Any chance of Jellybean coming to Droid 3 by developers?

Yes, there is a very good chance. The developer Hashcode (who created Safestrap, a common bootstrap/recovery used by Droid 3 rooters) has been working on a way to extend the Linux kernel (which will allow full ICS and Jellybean features to be supported) and has been working on a CyanogenMod 10 (Jellybean) version for the Droid 3. There is a working version that is missing full functionality, so, hopefully, at some point in a matter of weeks there will be a JB build for the Droid 3 that works.

In the meantime, the GB builds are feature-complete. Steel Droid is fine; I think the GB version is better, since everything works.

I think most things are working on cm10 beside the camera, but with safestrap 3 it takes the same amount of time to boot up as is does to switch roms now so if you know you need to take a picture you got it. Its still a little laggy but quadrant scores are 3200 so once it gets going for real its going to be great!

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking forward to JB coming out with full feature for our D3 phones. I'm getting tired of the stock GB on my phone, but rather than waste a lot of time installing a new build on my phone multiple times, I'll stick it out for a few more weeks and hope that JB will be out for D3 and I'll root/upgrade to it at that time.

I decided the same today I sbf'd back to stock. I had too many roms and got tired of having to fix everything the same. much easier for me right now just to have one stable rom and have everything going on on it right now then when ics and jelly bean get stable ill switch to one of them and keep it there lol. Right now this is fast and stable since its new. I know it will slow down over time but im ok with that just hoping for a camera soon then it will probably be my daily driver.

^ Cool, so you're back to stock for now. As others have observed, I've definitely noticed my phone being a lot slower than when I first got it, but at least it's a little more stable (not by much, though) since I got the 2 VZW OTA updates since its release. I figured I've waited since July 2011 so I'll wait another month before I finally hack my phone and put in a non-VZW OS (ROM).
