Help Any chance of saving my S3?

While charging overnight my phone went through a power surge. According to the Samsung experience shop at Best Buy, my phone broke because I wasn't using a Samsung charger but an extra one from a different phone. Anyway, my phone did not show a picture of the battery when i clicked the home button when I woke up. Thinking nothing of this, I went to turn it on where it froze at the Samsung screen. Pull the battery and try again, and the phone freezes at the same spot. One more battery pull and retry but this time it won't do anything. No recovery, no download, nothing. I have tried a different battery but to no success. The only response I get is a red led if I plug it in without the battery, and my computer will recognize it is plugged in through the usb.

So is there anyway I can save my phone? If not, is there anyway at all I can pull the pictures from the phone (I was not using an SD card)?

Im sorry to say its probably no and no it sounds like a true "brick".
Is it still under warranty? (1yr in america, 2yr in europe)
If so then i think you should get a new phone. As far as i know the phone regulates the charge current itself so it shouldnt matter what charger. Dont mention it being non-samsung though :thumbup:

Thanks for the response. Samsung was very understanding and offered to replace it even though its just out of warranty. This may be a stupid question but would it be at all possible to disassemble the phone and take out the internal memory? It crashed while I was on vacation and I really would like to get off those photos.

Ive seen a few people ask the same thing and ive never heard of a way to do it. The internal sd isnt really an sd card. Its just named that. Its actually a part (partition) of a storage chip thats soldered onto the motherboard. Im sure people like police forensics could do it but not the average person.
Didnt you have dropbox backing up your pics etc? Or they may have backed up to your Google Plus account.
Hope you didnt lose anythin too important. Thats great that theyre replacing the phone
