2 all the awesome devs that made our prevail do things that is incrediable ......htc evo needs peps like the devs here ..........
thank you 4 all the roms that i flashed on my prevail , but now upgraded 2 the htc evo , way diff. prosses to root this phone (tough 4 my lack of knowlage)..........
 
You gonna buy the Dev the phone?
You got donations lined up for their work?
you going to send someone YOUR device to use?

Basically this thread says :
"you should REALLY spend $300 of your hard earned money on the phone that i decided to buy. I can't figure out how to make it better. I just assumed that cm7 would port itself... Gee golly, my expensive phone sucks"
 
yea, $300 is a lot of cheddar... i would love to have an evo myself, in due time i may eventually get one.

i'll always keep my prevail though, this phone is a tank! if it were water proof it would be nearly indestructible

the evo team should really do some research instead of stealing devs away :/
 
I'm saying, hell send me one from Ebay and I'll hook you guys up. But I'm not dumping my cash on the evo. The only reason I got my marquee was due to the fact I got it for $100 and it was a present at that, do I technically didn't even pay for it. :)

I guess you have two choices :

1. Sell your HTC and buy a Prevail and benefit from these "awesome dev's"

or

2. Buy these "awesome dev's" the device you like to make awesome !!!

Nothing is for free in this world !!!

Not trying to be a @$$ bro. Trust, if I had the option to get one at the same price I got my Marquee for, I would have. I would still love to help you guys out if I can. PM me if you want and we can talk some more. But until I can get my hands on one, I don't really think there will be much I can do.
 
I mean that occasionally all the developers on this forum band together to drive home a point, much in way ants respond to having their mound kicked, or bees when you prod their nest.now having said that, I feel I must further explain that I mean no disrespect all the devs are extremly talented here and as I was typing the original posting I heard the voice of the narraitor from the old super friends cartoons.

This is the reason I wont buy the Evo. Its a bi-itch to root. I root phones for friends and family and just about all of them have Samsung phones. ODIN is magic for Sammy phones. I got a request to root my friends moms phone and she has a HTC Evo 3D from Sprint. I looked up how to do it and my head started spinning.

Point is, if you are all worried about rooting and custom roms, and dont know how to develop on your own, do some research and buy a phone that already has devs making stuff for it. Thats why Im waiting to see what Samsung phone is going to be next for Boost, because Im pretty confident a decent amount of devs will get one and do work on it.

Also like Lord Vincent said, if you look around different forums, they offer to buy the phone or tablet for the dev, and pay him for his work. What the OP is asking for is some kind of Developer Welfare Program. This is a capitalist society, hombre:smokingsomb:

I think we are getting samsung galaxy s 2.. It was a rumor that sprung out of here. (android forums)
 
the epic 4g touch is coming to boost. in fact there has already been software leaks of it, i gutta set up the device tree for em here shortly so that they can get merged in as an official cm device since it will be basically a few config files that need to be edited so it runs ICS/JB smoothly
 
From where I'm standing the less devs for the Design the better because I want to learn. I just haven't had the time yet. But if the Design gets a bunch of devs then I'll be content standing around eating up their work. This way I can finally learn to do something instead of just waiting and leeching. :D :( :o :D

I read about the Epic 4G Touch a few weeks ago, but I have not heard a release date. Im also curious what the BIG announcement will be on August 22 from Samsung, Boost & Virgin. In a way Im hoping itll be the SGS3, but if it is, it will probably carry a $500+ pricetag(too rich for my blood).

sextape is a known good source (ive worked with him a lot in the past) and he is always correct about stuff. plus the tar kinda proves it :P
