Help Any feelings on the Samsung galaxy s2...

Which network is your GS2 on, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint or Verizon? Each of the US carrier's devices are different enough that we have separate sub-forums for each. Other S2 owners are definitely the best people to ask.

I have a friend who has the S2 (He's on T-Mobile) and he loves his and from what I've read it's a very nice device.

I have one. I'm also with AT&T.
Up until the ICS update, I LOVED my phone. Now, not so sure. I have had so many problems after upgrading that its sucked the fun out of my phone.

While it's inconvenient, I would recommend performing a full factory reset. It will resolve a lot of the issues with ICS. Make sure all your important data is backed up prior to resetting or you may lose it. Specifically, contacts, SMS messages, email and photos.

What's wrong with the ics update. I was planning to update my phone to it this weekend. However I don't want it to mess up how my phone runs.

There's nothing really wrong with it. Moving from gingerbread to ICS is not just an update but a major platform revision. While Google, Samsung (and even AT&T, if you want to give them any credit ;) ) have done a decent job of making it an in-place update and preserving your apps and settings, there is just too much new and too much old stuff left lurking to make it trouble free. The best way to go is to backup your device completely, run the update, backup again and then do a full factory reset. It will be like starting with a fresh copy of stock ICS.

It may be an inconvenience for a couple of days while you get everything set back the way you like it, but ICS is a big improvement and you should see significantly better battery life, better performance and not be plagued by the app incompatibilities that those who don't reset will be suffering from.

I have on and I just want to know what people think about it.
Hi
I have one too. I like it apart from some problems. I an not able to stream audio, like spotify, in 3G mode. In WiFi mode it works. I also have a problem with the voice recognition turning itself on even when I dont want to have it. the navigator that I ordered from my local operator (Finland) does not work either.

I agree with what others have said about performing a factory reset. I didn't have that much on my phone so I just did the reset and put the stuff I really needed back on manually. So far ICS has been good. I like the improvements (like the default email app).

I don't have a pc, so I'm still using GB (But with an awesome custom ROM).
But this is okay, because about 50% of S2 owners are happy with ICS, 50% not so much so.
I can't think of one thing I particularly would want ICS for as GB on this Hercules (T-mobile) works completely flawlessly except that sooner or later more and more apps are going to be developed specific to 4.0.
And by then the bugs of ICS will be mostly worked out and I will then borrow a pc to update to keep up with the rest of the pack.
But to answer the question, the S2 is an awesome piece of machinery.
