Has anyone used one of these from the link above? Does it add any colour cast to the photos, or is it a neutral?

I have seen three photos:
with sapphire glass = without back cover
with original back cover lens = a little bluish

Yes, the sapphire glass has exactly the same dimensions as the origin plastic cover.

EDIT: Superglue? The glue should be elastic :)

Before I set up an account on that web site, can anyone who has already purchased one let me know how much postage they charge? I.e. what will the total cost be?

I hate e-commerce sites that don't make this clear until you have signed up!

Cost in EURO (purchased in UK from Germany):
sapphire glass: 16.63
postage: 20.00
tax (17.5%): 6.41
total:43.04

Ouch. So the postage is more than doubling the price! How can they justify €20 for shipping a tiny fragment of glass within the EU? I guess they are used to dealing with companies, who can easily write that sum off.

That justifies (in my own mind, at least!) my cynicism of sites that don't make their shipping prices clear at the outset!
 
It's "only" $27 for me in Canada. Which is still a rip off lol. Shipping should be just lettermail which is about $1 within N/A and internationally $2-3. Maybe I'll call them up and make the order.

Not sure if this is worth it lol, $30 almost for piece of glass that's smaller than my wedding ring.

Might just polish it then put a screen protector on since I have 10 of those.
 
It seems as though this people of Edmund Optics are the only one on earth, who sell this sapphire glas in correct size for the Desire .... and they know it ...

Item is U152/02 Mineral Glasses Hardened Thin the 10mm size. I just ordered 2 to replace my scratched cover. Each piece is$2.50GBP Gotta be better than the stock one.

I had to threaten them with Distance Selling Regulations (2000) and a promise I would not let it drop before they reluctantly refunded me in full (even though I told them I would of preffered delivery of the lens rather than a refund!)



Well this seems a more financially viable option:D

Did the lens fit as it's .5mm larger than the previously recommended EXPENSIVE option:confused:
