Can someone give me a suggestion of a fun cool game? My buddy on has the iPhone and always brags about how many cool games it has and blah blah blah. Suggestions please?;)

Here are a few that I like. This is one of the serious weak points of Android compared to iPhone. I had the iPhone and games are far superior on there. I really hope game developers start optimizing for EVO.

Homerun Battle 3d
RoboDefense
Paper Toss

Replica Island
Raging Thunder
Raging Thunder 2
South Park Mega Millionaire
Toss it
SpecTrek (Uses GPS)
Radiant
Space Physics
Winds of Steel
Shoot U!
Speedx
Super K.O. Boxing 2 (Full featured boxing game, absolutely free. Lots of fun)
Gameboid (Emulator)
Nesoid (Emulator)
Snesoid (Emulator)

Super KO Boxing
Paper Toss
Phone Fraze.

Yeah the Android market has....uh...NO games. And two of the games I listed are ports from the iPhone.

The only good game that I downloaded was Phone Phraze, which is a good way to showcase your Evo with your friends. I however won't let them play with it if I don't have a case as a precaution. :)

Most of the game I've downloaded are free. The bottom part are like games you can play in FB.

Question about Snesoid. I downloaded it, but when I launch... it opens a file browser type window. Is it looking for me to point to a game file? If so, where do you get the game files?

Thanks!

Shoot U!
Age of Conquest ( If you enjoy Risk )

only two games I play.
Camel Games, maker of Shoot U, has some other neat games, all their games feature a rich physics engine which require you to think.

Yes, its asking you to open the actual ROM file you're looking to load. As for the ROM files themselves, I can't give out any direct links, but I will say this: Google is your friend when you're looking for snes roms :P.

That's one thing iPhone owns Android in, is selection of apps. U won't find an abundance of games like iPhone honestly, but at least u can get gameboy/nes/snes/genesis emulator from the market and dl craploads of roms (freeroms.com is a good site).

Sorry... to hijack :)

I downloaded super street fighter 2 turbo and it has like 6 files. They all seem to work, but do I need all? Is one of the files the latest version? If so, how do I tell?

A ROM consists of only one file that you're actually loading. There's no way you need more than one, let alone six.

Emulator ROMs need to stay zipped; it sounds here like you unzipped the file into its components. The emu is looking for the ZIP as a whole.

i've seen that before.... when you unzip it you get like 3-6 diffrent roms, normally its just diffrent version.... like NA and JP versions

I loaded the zip file first, but the emulator could not read the file, so I unzipped and loaded all of the SMC files. There are actually 10 of them and all seem to be the same size.

These are the files:
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (E) (V1.0) [!].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (E) (V1.1) [!].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (J) [!].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (J) [f1].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (J) [h1C].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (J) [o1].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (U) [!].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (U) [f1].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting (U) [T+SPA_Chilensis].smc
Street Fighter II Turbo - Qiong Cang Bao Jian (Hack).smc

Yeah, from what I can see, two of those files are the European version, three of them are the Japanese version, and three of them are the North American version. They're all the same game, but they might just be different rips of it.

That's really odd. In the arcade world of MAME and the like, each ZIP file is counted as one ROM(*) for the emulator, so different versions of the game will each have their own entire ZIP.

*even though that's actually a misnomer... you see, for an arcade game, a ROM is actually a distinct chip on the circuit board. If PacMan had 8 ROM chips on its board, then the pacman ZIP for MAME will contain 8 files at the very least, one containing the code from each chip.

yup, just play with them till you find the one that works best for you/your device

some of my N64 roms the JP versions work better

Emulators and RoboDefense aside, I can't really find decent games. I've been an Android fanboy since the G1 and the situation has barely changed. Android is my supreme choice for phone/personal/work life, but for games and music I absolutely need my iPod Touch.
