Any Gun owners out there?

Got the Apex trigger spring kit installed in my SD9VE(also a much needed cleaning...guess I lost track of how many rounds I've fired.....).

Can't wait to take it out and see how accurate it is.
I have that installed on mine and the only way it improves accuracy is by reducing the hand shake that normally occurs when you get near the end of trigger travel on the stock heavier 8lb pull. And YES, it helped me too! Can't be very accurate if ur hand shaking by the time it will fire, Lol. Really awesome Modz [emoji41] Good buy. Also look into the Stainless Steel guide rod (by Galloway) and spring so ur carbon/plastic don't get warm and start flexing, causing FTF & FTE's.. Trust me, after a cpl boxes ur SD9VE will get warm and you will get upset. Those 2 Modz and now this thing is Str8 flawless.

I don't think I have a shaking problem. I've been doing coin sight exercises (where you place a coin on top of the front sight and dry fire the gun. Ideally the coin will stay on top of the sight).

Normally I didn't shake either (Glock fires at the halfway mark and I don't shake) but slowly squeezing that extensive travel 8lb trigger while maintaining intended target in sights had me shaking a bit the last cpl mm.. The Apex kit removed that from the equation perfectly

you gotta be kidding, my daughter was just there a few hours ago, and I didn't even think to have her look...
the guys at the gun counter, tell me, that 22LR only lasts about 30 minutes, and then it is all gone.

I gave my 22LR pistol to my son, nothing to put in it, so why keep it?

It looks like Mr @bjacks12 is ur reason why!! Lmfao..
For real tho, 9mm is by far harder to find here in FL, unless it's the dirty Tulammo or steel cased ammo.

we're drowning in cheap 9mm here.

I paid $28 per brick for the .22

The good news is they're not thunderbolts.

The bad news is I got excited, dug out my old Ruger Mark III, decided to clean it up to go shooting tomorrow, and ended up rendering it non functional.

by cleaning it?!

Probably haven't fired my Mark II in 10 years. Would have to read the manual again to figure out how to disassemble it

Does anyone notice that a .22 barrel (sides) is thicker than a 9mm or .45? Any idea why they do that?

In the last 180 days, I have attended two U.S. Law Shield seminars now, and also the CCW course to get the permit.

The one thing that each course emphasized, was to get a pistol that felt comfortable in your hands....
They all said to forget about what caliber it is, just get a frame that will fit your hands...
All of the courses had about 40% women in attendance :p which I really appreciated, because I know that they will be able to most likely, take care of themselves.

The last thing they stressed, was the myth about only a .45 or .50 is good enough to put a thug down....
Even a thug on methadone, cannot stand up if a 9mm magazine is emptied into their center mass....
yes, a good .45 ACP super hollow point will wipe out the entire heart area in one shot, but a 9mm can empty a lot of slugs in 2 seconds...
and if they are all Hollow Points, they will do a lot of damage.

And their last point? it is a lot easier for a smaller hand to keep a 9mm "on target" than it is to try and get a .45 ACP "back on target"...

AGREED!! That's exactly why I went with a 9mm instead of a .40 or. 45. Not much more kick than a .22 but MUCH more penetrating power. The key to any firearms (I feel) is the proper ammo for the situation. So I keep 2 magazines full, 1 has Home defense ammo (RatShot, RIP, Hollow point, ect) and the other is for target practice. The ammo itself makes a BIG difference. 1 ROUND of that RIP ammo hits an attacker and there's a 95% chance they'll not get far. At all. They'll bleed out before doing much of anything else. Ever.

G2R RIP 2014:

RIP, not familiar with that, going to find me some.

6 bucks difference in cost, pays to look around.

This article poo poos the ammo as being effective?
http://www.gunssavelife.com/?p=10742

and this guy says the article is set up to naysay the effectiveness of the round....

I am more inclined to go with this guy:

I agree the FTF is a great concern considering this is suppose to be a self defense round. I am not to concerned of the penetration of only 12.75″ in gelatin. I would like to see the damage to a more realistic target like a pig carcass. You don’t want over penetration for a self defense round anyway and persons heart is less than 6″ from the chest wall. I would like to see the damage of a double tap (if it feeds).

I've shot half of my box of RIP ammo (to just "see") and they were absolutely FLAWLESS!! Whereas if I shoot a box (50ct)of Federal ammo (from Walmart) I have at least 5 that fail to even fire. PMC and RIP were flawless. I was more than impressed. Worth the price. Any day. Especially if it's your family's life at stake because you certainly can't put a price on their wellbeing.

Thank you for that comment.

I currently have one box of "hollow points", but I am now going to get a box of the RIP rounds and just keep one clip for each weapon loaded with them.

I have two 9mm pistols and my daughter has one.... so a single box will do us fine for pocket carry.
I hope to never, ever, have a cause to pop one off under 'duress'.

Yes Sir, anytime. I agree with your perspective of hoping to never need one but I figured you'd get a better/ more legitimate info from an actual user than one paid by a rep to say what they're payed for. Phenomenal. [emoji41]

I've never had a problem with federal failing to fire, and it's probably 70% of what I've put through my SD9, though to be fair, I've never had anything fail to fire yet in that gun to the best of my knowledge.

I have a mag full of federal personal defense hollow points in my spare mag for that gun. 115 gr. Probably because that's all I could get during the panic of 2013 and I haven't bothered replacing it yet. In my LC9S, I currently have winchester 115 gr JHP.

I have a LC9S 9mm, two SCCY CPX2 9mm (pink for my daughter, black for me) and one Hi-Point HP45ACP

I bought the LC9S later because it is thinner and fits my hand better than the SCCY, and hope it feels better IWB...
ordered up some StickyHolsters for me.... I gave the only one I had to my daughter so hers will be safe and won't go bang at the wrong time.

now, the extra CPX2 will be a hidey gun to stash where it might be needed if I am a situation where I can't get to the IWB.

I'm new to this CC game, have always just been a Farm Boy and plinked at this and that..... prairie dogs for the ranchers who paid for the ammo.....
coyotes for $5 for a pair of ears... was $15 at one time... Then the Taxidermist started paying my friend for coyotes that were clean kills, not messed up....

Once back in the '70s, I shot a coyote running away from me with my 22-250 at night, light/scope..... and when my friend picked him up and took it to the Taxidermist, there weren't any holes in his hide.... when it was cut open the whole inside was mince meat.... the taxidermist said the bullet went in thru the anus....
