Any Gun owners out there?

Welp. The gun lounge is certainly as good a place as any to put my 3rd post. :thumbsupdroid:

When I read "Glock" :wtfdroid: in the first post, I got a bit worried, but it looks like there are some decent guns in here, too.:p J/k, J/k.

I have a Taurus PT845 that I finally got a decent holster for, so I can finally start to carry it. Awesome gun, btw.

My duty carry is the FNS 40. Not my favorite, but at least the bullets come out the right end. Prior to that was the M&P .45. Also not at the top of my list, but... meh. At least it's not a Glo... er, a glowing squirt gun from Walmart...

My home blunderbuss duties are handled by a Maverick 88 20" with ghost ring sights.

Can't forget the Marlin single shot bolt action youth .22 that I've had for over 20 years. I think there might still be a few lands and/or grooves left in the bore. Maybe?

Up next is a long gun or pew pew gun. I've been eyeballing the Marlin XL7 in .308 for a while now to fill the role of the long gun. The pew pew is between a .308 AR and 7.62x39 AK. If I get the Marlin, the black gun will probably end up being the AK. No sense in having 2 guns in 308. And no, I'm not getting a 5.56 unless they'll let me use it at work. I already have a trusty .22, so getting another one would be silly.:D

Welcome to the parade of toys....
I had a Taurus PT-145 and was only too happy to give it a new home.... that thing jammed on every 2nd or 3rd round.

Found a nice little Ruger LC9S that I really do like a lot better for IWB as it is thinner and not so obnoxious to carry.

I don't think a CCW war will last more than 2 or 3 rounds anyway, if you live that long.

Yeah, I was a bit skeptical about Taurus autos, but i think they have come a long way in the last few years. Their newer guns don't seem to be too problematic. I did have some problems with ball ammo at first because the paint wasnt fully cured in my mags, causing longer ball ammo to bind up against the tacky paint. All is well now tho, and even my competition shooter buddy was impressed by it when i finally brought it to work.

Another work buddy just picked up a Ruger SR9c and brought it to work. That one is a pretty sweet little heater. Im tempted to pick one of those up for the Mrs in leau of the Bersa i was thinking about.

My best bud and a real knowledgeable gun guy loves his Glocks. It's not my carry, but I do respect his opinion.

My favorite auto was a Smith and Wesson model 59. It was developed for the military but they didn't like it. It was a double action double stack nine and was indestructible and infallible. It only saw a decade of production... sorta gives one a clue of it's popularity. Hey.. I loved that gun. It's all about what works for the shooter. What feels comfortable. What is easy to deploy and put and keep on target. It's not the same for all shooters. That's why there are so many makes and models.

I researched the VIN/SN and found out it was a 1st year manufactured gun.... I followed the Taurus forums on that model, and decided it was time to find it a new home. I broke even, so considered myself very fortunate...

I have a good friend who is a retired SWAT officer focusing on the illicit drug arena....
He carries a Glock, and said that all of his department preferred them to the all metal, heavier guns.
They could carry anything they wanted but he preferred the Glock.

I have several different brands and calibers. I can say the I trust the Glock over any of them for being the most reliable when considering different ammo/weather/environmental factors.

Not too many will continue to work covered with mud inside and out of them ...

The second Glock I bought was the Model 22, .40. My niece has the 23 for her carry gun. As far as AR or AK, I love the 7.62x39 round and got a kit from Model 1 Sales. The AR to me has a better optics platform with the A3 flat top upper. I wish I would have went with DPMS instead of Armalite for my 308 AR due to the available after market parts. Almost everything Armalite is proprietary.

I have been wanting to build another 10/22. This would be the ideal outcome hopefully without dropping what this puppy cost. Gotta start saving.

Did anyone hear what the lady in Miami used to shoot that thief crawling out of her window at her home?
Perfect reason to be prepared, and that she was.

I see that I phrased that all wrong, should have said "Has anyone heard"...
as myself, I don't know either.

was just curious if the lady was carrying a Glock or a much small purse weapon.
apparently she is qualified to point it in the right direction :p

Picked up my Howa 1500 in .30-06. Ive been getting it ready to shoot before i take it to the range. I ordered an abs sheet and thumb screws for an adjustable cheek rest, bipod, and polyfil beads for a shooting sock. Now i need a drag bag and scope cover.

The rifle and scope was $535 after tax. All the other stuff another $50, with about $100 to go. I should be all in for under $700 and have a rifle easily capable of 1000 yards. Unfortunately, the longest range nearby is 800 yards. Gotta start somewhere.

Are glocks and purse guns the only options?

My money is on a small .38 spl revolver.

Seems to be very popular among females. Send a girl into a gun store and I promise you the guy behind the counter is going to try and push one on her. Probably in pink too.

That's about all they let you have in your neck of the woods, right?

Hehe :D

Well I think the laws in SA are insanely restricted... I know of a friend who BATTLED to get just his Beretta 9mm legal - it was insane it is almost like they don't want you to protect yourself :(
