Any Gun owners out there?

Not a gun at all, but it does relate to having to use Warranty Service.
My nuvi 2797 Garmin GPS for the wife's car decided it wants to look like a TV set with all horizontal lines...
been years since I have seen that on the old Black and White Tvs....

sent it off to Garmin up in Olathe, KS and they shipped me out a replacement the same day, only 1 hour and 12 minutes from "Receipt of unit" to "Replacement has been shipped" :)

It came in today's mailbox, powered it up, it took the map updates, and all is well. :D

Kind of impressed with their service. I understand from reading here that Ruger and SCCY are amongst the best of gun manufacturers for taking care of their customers. I own two SCCY CPX-2 and one Ruger LC9S....

SCCY supposedly built their entire business model on customer service.

They had a theft warranty. If your gun were stolen, they'll replace it. I believe they had to discontinue that due to a combination of fraud and the gov't flexing it's muscles.

The last time I checked, sometime within the last six months, I think that theft warranty by SCCY was still in effect...
might have been reading some very old literature though.... but the sales person in the 3rd week of December told me the same thing.

My two SCCY's were Christmas presents for me and my daughter....

don't recall if I mentioned it here or not, last week she went to Tulsa at a Women's Only CCW course, only 5 ladies showed up.... so they got extra special attention for each lady...

My daughter had never shot anything bigger than a BB gun, and that was 30 years ago.... but, we taught her how to handle that gun, and she was plinking the coke cans right as rain.

Out of 50 rounds, she put 42 of them in the Center Mass, of the 42, 21 of them were in the #10 spot circle.
and that with a gun she had not even taken out of the box until the instructor told her how to handle it.

I made it a point for her to get her 1st education from someone besides "daddy", I did NOT want anything to get in the way of what she should know, and how she might feel about what I said.

The very 1st round is the one on the bottom of the paper.... the instructor stood by her and coached her with proper technique until he saw her get up into the kill zone, then he left her alone.

The SCCY change was more recent than that...maybe 2 months ago.

The problem was too many people were pawning their guns off to felons, reporting them stolen, and getting their warranty replacement. Then the original guns kept turning up in crime scenes. I think they wanted(wisely) to avoid potential liability.

I have a Ruger Mini-14, so I don't need an AR-15....
my little Ruger will keep right on working, even if it does get some mud in it.

I also don't need all those fancy gadgets the AR-15 has available.
I was at the Tulsa Gun Show a couple of weeks ago, lordy, the AR-15 tables were overflowing everywhere.

I don't see how any vendor can survive in that market. It is flooded.

I'm not in Vietnam, my gun will stay clear of mud

Dang, four months.... and I thought Kansas was slow. Thirty to forty five days was projected and delivery was right around that thirty day mark. At least you have it in the works. Congrats!

When I got my CCW in Alabama in mid 90's, went to Sheriff office for my county, filled out a request form. Sheriff office ran a background check and issued my permit the same day. Not sure what requirements are now for new request. Don't plan on letting mine expire.
