That really prevents crime. Look at Florida. Seriously!
what about FL? I live here. By all means, plz insert foot. The crimes preventable involving concealed carry involves Str8 murder/homicide, which also branches into many others. Not allowing to carry is like sending in a swat team without armor. Who wins that? Only the bad guys. If more people carried, the Fbook killer wouldn't have gotten away as long as he did.. If at all.  While it may not seem to change much in terms of ppl dying, the big issue is WHO SURVIVES: the bad guy who kills 10 ppl, or the family of 5 who lives because only the bad guy was killed. The excessive gun laws only protect the criminals from being shot back at.. That doesn't help the family defend themselves from the bad guys that get guns illegally and will shoot you for a dollar anyways. Go wear a Safety pin!

Edit: Apologies for my harshness but some of you ppl get me emotional. I've had several incidents whereas if I didn't have my 9mm, my children and I wouldn't still be here today. Chew on that.

Speaking of which, the Alabama Senate just voted to do away with requiring a permit for concealed carry.

http://abc3340.com/news/local/senate-votes-to-allow-concealed-carry-without-permit

Now to see how it does in the House...

I hope it passes for your state. We've had premitless carry in Kansas coming up on it's second year now. I'm not a bit sorry that I have my permit. I will continue to keep it current. It is recognized in most other states. Permitless on the other hand is only good in this state.

I know of a few people local to me that carry without a permit. They feel great that they saved a lot of money, time, and hassle in not going the distance to obtain a permit. I agree with them that they did save near $400 bucks and a day of class and qualification. And they saved the time and expense of getting finger printed and getting a passport pic taken and then taking off work again to submit your paperwork to the state via the driver license bureau and on and on (the hassle) There is no argument... the state of Kansas placed a lot of hoops one had to jump through to get a permit. However, the ability to travel from state to state with my legal family protection at my side makes it all worth while.

I am all in favor of permitless carry. The thought of Mr. innocent being armed has to play on Mr bad's mind when he contemplates a crime. The more that are protected the less chance of his success. I like that a lot. I would like to know that those that carry are somewhat trained in safe carry and have some skill set in the safe handling and use of a firearm. The ability to buy/carry legally doesn't necessarily protect. I don't know how you could force a training session/range time on the public that wanted to carry but it would certainly make me feel better. Carrying a gun has a great responsibility.

Been awile...

Kind of off-topic and hppe I'm not violating any security issues..

But this documentary I'm watching on The Smithsonian Channel. The A-10 Warthog is a kickass weapons platform if you can fly and purchase the fuel.

Told you it was OT.

That's exactly what i meant. Homicide/Murder is down in Florida. Trust me, if you don't know someone who knows the Chief you're not getting a concealed carry permit in Boston MA
You have to train an certify in the suburbs to get one in Boston unless you're like an ex-cop. Military experience means nothing. Even if you were in whatever your branch of the Service called "Military Police".

You can't even buy a crossbow in Boston anymore. All the gunshops have closed. Army/Navy stores are vanishing. I could cry that i lost my pistol crossbow from the 1980's. They were legal then.

that's the result of some liberal garbage, right there.. Only the police allowed to defend themselves. It's a common perspective within the police ranks here in Florida too. They get ridiculous when someone uses their legal rights to a gun and defend themselves. Believed me, I know from personal experience. BS cost me $15K... May I suggest buying your crossbows & other weapons from amazon.com and eBay..??

Just the tip bchrister.

My Florida experience included Homestead AFB, the so called Florida City, and way too many miles to Key West or Miami for a guy without a car. In other words...
Way in the country. Down in the country.

Anybody have experience with the M4 carbine?

It reminds me so much of the M16 collapsible stock model I used to carry as a K9 handler in the USAF in the late 1970.s I could cry.

No one was thinking about that foregrip handle back then though...

Is it really true that enhances your accuracy over iron sights? Such a simple thing...

Your Colt collection got me curious. Why did my service carbine have an x in the model number? And why when I've described it to anyone did they think I was crazy?

That curiosity brought me to this article.

For those who don't want to read the article it turns out I was issued a Colt model 610. Hollywood never used this particular model on TV or in films because that funky flash protector/noise moderator worked to well. The flash from the muzzle didn't film well and you had to pull back the charging handle every time you shot a blank. Also the ATF declared the flash protector/noise moderator a silencer so it never made the civilian market. I can only guess ATF thought it looked like one so they never bothered to test it. Darn thing was loud as he**!

Picking up another colt ar this week. The oem2.. Just need sights and handguard. Gonna prolly do a 9" free float
