Help any i9100 users in North America?? on AT&T network??

Hi everyone,
I'm curious who is using the Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 in North America on the AT&T network. I'm having issues with my data connection and I'm curious if anyone has this phone working flawlessly here. I'm specifically in Minnesota but if anyone is in the US or Canada then I'd like to talk to you!
My data connection keeps fluctuating and I'm at my wit's end with this thing!

I haven't been home since around Christmas, but I was running without any problems then. I was mainly in the Houston, Conroe, and Huntsville, TX areas though. Stayed on H+ and had good speeds (Obviously not 4G.)

I think the one or two times that it did seem to hang up on me, I just turned off mobile data and turned it back on, and it was fine. That seemed to only be an issue when I was hot spotting my data to my daughters' tablets though if I remember correctly.


Just FYI, I was an OJP (United Arab Emirates) phone, but I was running the Pre-Release of Jelly Bean at the time. I have no CSC associated with it, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not.

Thank you for your response! This is frustrating to me, because my phone likes to constantly switch from H+ to H to 3G during downloads. For instance, if I hit the facebook app, it will indicate it is on H+, but then in the middle of the download it will switch to H and then 3G like it is confused, and it takes probably 6-10 seconds to find H+ again and continue downloading.

I have had this issue on the factory Icecream Sandwich, on a leaked Jellybean Rom, and now on NeatRom Lite 4.2 and 4.3.

I get the impression it is more hardware related and not the software, and this is why I was reaching out to any i9100 users in America.

If you didn't have any issues, then I wonder if it is network related up here in Minnesota then? I haven't taken it too far from around just west of Minneapolis, but Im definitely out in the sticks. But, come to think of it, the phone does the same thing even in the big city.

Im at my wit's end trying to figure out why it is doing this. I have even turned fast dormancy off to no avail.

That does sound weird. I wish I could be of more help, but unfortunately, I'm sitting in northern Afghanistan. I will be frustrated if I get home and find that AT&T has changed some network settings somewhere that's going to cause mine to do the same. I have not experienced the quick changing between networks as you describe though.

On a side note, I'm loving being able to hotspot on AT&T's network without having to pay the monthly fee. I'm tempted to pick up an International S4 with the Octa in May when I fly home just so I can keep doing it. That will be the real question... LTE hotspot in the states without paying the extra charge for the provider.

We shall see. I will save this thread and try to remember to post when I get back stateside.
