Any idea as to when Lucid well get 4.0

Yeah, I tried going into the store here and causing a small scene about this update my phone keeps trying to download. she just looked in the computer, said v6 is the newest and they must be working on the towers.

Here's something interesting:

I just cleared data and force stopped "Google Services Framework" then tried the update again. Still got the error, but it checked my location right before that. Does Software Update always check location before it updates?

Yes it does, they "roll out" the updates to certain areas first and then trickle it out so they don't overload the servers.....

Also on a side note, I connected my Lucid to the computer after having the Lg tool started and it told me there was a update for my phone and started a download - after about a minute or so it popped up and then said my phone was up to date and cancelled out..... Things that make you go hummmmmm.....

How does the roll out work?is it random?

I'm not sure exactly how they decide to do the "roll outs". I've heard that sometimes it's the phones that are the most recent additions, sometimes it's those that are the oldest, and sometimes it's certain area's that get it.... I guess its just whatever tickles their fancy at the time...lol

I used to work for Verizon. I'm not entirely sure if they do this for all phones, but when they were upgrading the RAZR to 4.0, they did it by MEID. So basically, if you had MEID A00001A1A1A1A You would get the update first. That's the most recent update I was there for, I don't know if that's how they will do all updates.

I'm gonna try unrooting my phone, check it out... Worth a shot lol

Where do I find MEID?Or is it the same as IMEI?Cause my starts with a 9.

I still get an error when trying to update software.

The lucid does start with 99 on the MEID, so if they were to roll i out by device number it would be 990000111111111, then 99000111111112 and so forth. But I could be wrong, like I said, that's what they did for the Droid RAZR.

I tried asking the VZW rep that sold me the phone (actually a family friend), and he said he didn't know whether or not the Lucid was getting JB or ICS at all. He's trying to look into it for me, but until then, all he told me was that there was no information he could find quickly on a Lucid update.

It's more than half-way through October now...if the update is coming this month, time is running out.

Spoke to a VZW Rep today. The Lucid IS getting ICS!He's not sure when though, but he said it will happen.I activated another phone(Breakout) so I won't be on the Lucid for a while.

Lame..just activated a Pantech Breakout.I'll guess I'll just wait til there's a custom rom then I'll come back.. :D
