Any idea when HW v4 will be released?

Well since v.3 was sold launch day, no freakin idea. WHY do people think the "version" has to do with anything. ALL versions were sold since day one!
 
And what makes you so sure since all 3 have been around since launch day and NO ONE knows what "revision" means. Could be which factory builds the phone.

Very true, could just have been a quality control method to have two seperate lines making the phones to better control build issues.

Yeah this has kind of always been my feeling on this. Or it is possible when enough of the internals come from different sources they change the version number.
 
I do not think it really even needs to be just internals. How many of the V3's have the glimmering/shiny back that the V2s have? I have not heard of any though they may exist.

Were all the V2s novatec screens and the epsons start with the V3s?

Yeah I meant all the parts including casing, back, etc. Some of the 3's have both types of backs as well as screens. I am not sure if any of the 2's have Epson screens though
 
Also, just food for thought. A new hardware version does not always mean it will be better than the previous version.

I am not sure how things are done but let's say for that as of now they are under contract to buy a certain number of camera lenses from the company they are doing business now. After that supply runs dry who is to say that they will not buy a cheaper lense from another company. The new lens may be of the same quality or may be worse or better.... I guess the novatec/epson screen issue could far into this area.

Anyway, if anyway is waiting for a new hardware version hoping it will be better component wise you may be disappointed.
