any lakers fans here?

you are probably right, but i'm a Laker apologist:o so i will always root for them.
I never apologize for the Lakers. I'm a lot like Chick Hearn--I call 'em as I see 'em! And when they suck, they suck. I'll always root for them, but I'm a realist and just don't see anything good coming out of the playoffs this year. However, I'm glad they not only made the playoffs but even managed to get the #7 spot.

i think it is not our year.
It was a very odd year. I just couldn't have imagined the twists and turns this season would take. But I don't think anyone could have. Before the season started I think all Lakers fans--and probably most Laker haters, too--thought we had another title in the bag. I mean, look at our roster! But who knew how things would go?

hopefully by next season, antoni can find his "D" and become D-anotoni.
Hopefully, next season the head coach will look remarkably like Phil Jackson. :D

well thankfully the season is over for the lakers!!!!!

what a crazy season it has been....now for a crazy off season!!!!!!

I'm glad I didn't watch one second of game 4. In fact, I watched a total of a few minutes of the entire series. I saw the writing on the wall and wanted to spare myself the misery...

No kidding. I keep hearing the "A" word being tossed around, i.e., amnesty, in regards to Kobe and Pau. I really hope that doesn't happen, with either of them. They're my two favorite Lakers.

Thanks for that lovely pic. I had heard that Kobe joined the team after Howard got himself ejected, and that Kobe coached and cheered from his seat. I think that whole scenario speaks volumes about both players.

A little side-note: My mom was never a sports fan, but she got the biggest kick out of my yelling and hooting and hollering over the years while watching the Lakers. She became interested in basketball because of me. :) This season, after she became confined to bed, we'd watch the games in her room. She never bothered learning most players' names--she knew Kobe, and she also knew Phil Jackson, but that was it!--but she referred to Pau as "pretty boy." She'd even recognize Pau's brother as his brother...sort of. She'd say something like, "wait, that's not pretty boy is it?" and I'd say, "no, that's his brother." :D I miss her.

yeah i watched it on and off. i could not sit thru the whole thing.....i'm just glad that it is over. i can't think of a more crazier season that the lakers had to any other professional sports team. at this point i'm not sure what i would do with the team in the off season. part of me wants to keep howard, the other part of me does not want him on the team and would gladly like to see him go. another part of me likes pau, while the other part of me want to see him traded for younger players and draft picks.

and since we are talking about moms....there is no bigger fan then my mom. in fact you add my sister to the mix....by the time the game is over your ears would be ringing from both screaming and yelling during the game. i can't even watch the game when those two are around!!!!!

I love Pau and really hope he doesn't go anywhere. I think he's been GROSSLY misused/abused this season by Antoni, and if he had a coach who appreciated his strengths and put those to good use, he'd have a banner year. He's versatile in a way few big men are. He really can play just about any position and do it well. And he's SMART. Losing him would be a huge mistake...in my humble opinion, of course.

I love it! I'd like watching a game with them. :D

My husband, on the other hand, always got annoyed when I was watching the Lakers play. I mean watching and YELLING and chastising the coach's stupid moves and blasting [fill in the blank player] for not making free throws or for throwing up brick after brick...

yeah you would fit right in them. i'd bring some ear plugs though....LOL

My boyfriend is a big fan of Lakers!!!

yeah well, it is not a really good time to be a laker fan:o

unless we make some serious offseason moves the future does not look good right now. i mean i think they need to resign howard and try and keep gasol as well.....and lastly get rid of the coach.

You know what? I respectfully disagree! It's always a good time to be a Lakers fan, because even after a nightmarish, injury-plagued, disappointing season like this one, we ALWAYS have our history and legacy.

If Antoni is still coach next season...I'll be shocked--and very unhappy. He made some of the most bone-headed decisions I've ever seen by a Lakers head coach, and he clearly didn't understand his players' strengths and weaknesses. I'd like to cut him some slack considering how rarely the entire core of the team played together due to injuries, but I just can't, because I can't overlook the stupid things he did with certain players, especially Pau. He probably would've benched Kobe, too, but Kobe has the balls to stand up to him! Kobe is Kobe, he can do that.

I'm still holding out hope for a[nother] Phil Jackson return. After all, he and Jeanie are engaged, right? So it just makes sense for them to go to work together. :D

so looks like we have a new Laker coach.

check him out:
mark madsen will be coaching the D-fenders, which is owned by the Lakers
