Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

Will it be the S4 or Note3?

I'm thinking S4, since it's 1 week away from the event. Definitely not the Note 3. Still too far away from that. Although, a small part of me is wondering if maybe Sprint will have the only phone enabled Note 8?...Not likely, but that would definitely intrigue me a 'bit, especially since I'm not quite sure how Sprint would charge for a Note 8 (tablet plan or phone plan or some "new" type of separate plan).

Haha, right. The Note 8 will break Sprint.

See ya'll just wanna kick the dog while it's down. :p
If Sprint were to get the Note 8 we'd all be shocked and amazed.

Followed by all of us complaining how we purchased the Note 8, but can never even connect to 3G anymore...LOL.

I'm just poking fun a little at the fact that many of us are oh so loyal to Sprint and patient enough to sit through another couple years of "Network Vision" upgrades until it will supposedly complete at the end of 2014. Can you imagine if the Note 8 actually got offered under a regular phone plan (like all the other phones) vs. a tablet plan? There'd be a ton of people clamoring to buy it and just add it to their plan as an additional line (I know I'd likely do that).

You and me both!!!!

mark my words. My gut feeling is that I do believe Sprint will get the Note 8.

Reason for my prediction.
  1. There was a major request for the Note from customers, especially for the Note I (As indicated on numerous Sprint forums all over the web.)
  2. Sprint knows that Samsung is on a roll with their devices, the Galaxy series has features that are unmatched by others and are selling like hotcakes.
  3. Due to customer demand, and Sprint realizing that folks will go to a carrier that will over a specific phone (ex: iPhone, Note 1) included the mega size ("phablet") devices into their road plans (as I posted last year).
  4. Since selling the Note 2, they have been selling like crazy and its been a major hit for Sprint.
  5. The same type of customer demand happened for the Note 10.1 and Sprint listened and is now offering it.
  6. There is now a growing demand for the Note 8 as well in the Sprint forums.
  7. The roadmap from last year also showed a replacement for the "phablet". (But that could be the Note 3 or Note 8.)

For these reasons, I believe that Sprint will offer the Note 8. (it already has the Note 2 and Tab 10.1)

of course only time will tell if I am right.

Now whether the Note 8 comes with all its features is another story. The Galaxy Tab tablet had voice call capabilities when it came out, but Samsung didn't have the clout it had then as it has now. The Note 2 is only available in 16 GB versions. Now that Samsung has way more clout, it just may keep all the Note 8 features intact like voice capability and 32-64GB versions.
but again, only time will tell.

TS out

Slight correction...it has the Tab 10.1, but not the Note 10.1

But yeah, I read an article saying that the Note 2 is currently the most popular phone on Sprint (likely because of all the great deals they've been having as well).

I just don't know if I'm willing to wait an extra long time to get the Sprint version, especially not knowing how they will charge monthly's for it (whether they'll require a tablet plan or phone plan). My goal is to have the Note 8 by April, so if Sprint offers it (under a phone plan), I'll swoop that up. If not, it'll be wi-fi only for me.

Ok..preface...the following contains no information from Sprint, or Sprint sources. I have seen no information leading me to believe or providing release dates specs or anything at all from Sprint, my employer. The following information is from a trusted source close to or within Samsung.

Sprint and Verizon are getting some sort of Note tablet, and soon. I was told 10.1, but could possibly be 8 or I could see both.

On to the good stuff.

Just about all that you have read or seen in the last 24 hours is true.

Snapdragon processor seen in photos is likely correct. (though could change prior to release, they have done it before)
Reps have been given specific instruction that NO benchmark apps are to be downloaded to the devices.

No Spen

5" display. Similar design to the Note 2 but less rounded edges from what can be determined.

It is "rumored" that phones exist and are kept under lock and key until after the announcement. They can not leave the building currently. You can bet once they do I will get one in hand.

There are tons of new features and apps... gesture controls...the smart phone is getting scarily smart at recognizing what you are doing and responding without you even touching the phone

The phone will have RF for controlling Samsung media devices such as TV and such.

An optional worn device can track vitals and work with an app within the phone..health type junk.

multiple home screen/lock screen options not present before

pedometer

so on and so forth.

the real meat won't come until I can get the device in hand.

I am going to link screen shots...not my work...just the information I was able to confirm.

more to come......

this is what a lunchbox phone looks like...a phone encased in resin to hide the true design/shape

Pay no attention to the supposed pic of the phone...it is my belief that one is fake.

Thanks Ed! Looking forward to seeing on what the S4 will bring. It will give a good indication on what the Note 3 will be like.

Mr ed.. Are you saying the note devices will not have an spen?

I am guessing you are saying that about the s4..but want to confirm

I'm pretty sure that all that info is about the S4 (there were early rumors that the S4 might include S-Pen integration).

I was at the Sprint store today and was told they would have the S4 on the 23rd of this month. Don't know how true it is, just telling you what was told to me.

Not to burst your bubble, but carrier reps don't know anything more than what we know. If something was sent out to all Sprint reps about the S4, it would have leaked by now. They don't tell their reps anything until they tell the rest of the world.

This makes me doubt those cases. It's under lock and key, yet some nobody case company was able to get their hands on the information for it? lol

I am very well aware of this, thank you. I was only telling what I was told to me. I don't really see how it come out so fast. I was in disbelief when it was told to me. I am not expecting to see it within the next couple of months on Sprint.

I'm assuming they meant the HTC One.

That's what I asked him. But he was sure it was the S4. Most likely it is the HTC ONE. I think he was just excited about another phone coming out. Its funny seeing the employees get just as excited about these phones as we do.

lol...for someone who has followed my past in depth in hand reviews when no one else had a device in hand your posts shock me a little...

when I say "rumored" "supposed" etc you have to read between the lines.
the devices exist in lunchbox form and are locked inside Samsung buildings...employees are under strict non disclosure and the devices are not allowed out of the building until after the announcement.

I will also explain (again) that no info I have gathered now or in the past comes from my employer, but my from my friend "Sammy" who is employed by ..well...you know.

I'm pretty sure that all that info is about the S4 (there were early rumors that the S4 might include S-Pen integration).
correct...the lunchbox device has no spen or spen apps

I'm assuming they meant the HTC One.

I can not confirm or deny this information...as that WOULD be Sprint proprietary ;)

I think that you misread Tommy's post completely.

If the details are under lock and key, how can a no-name case supplier have cases? Where could they have gotten dimensions or a sample chassis? They couldn't have.

Then I guess I misread it as well. Couldn't tell if he was being real or sarcastic.
