any news on 2.3.4 for 3g uk?

lol says on that site update for 3 users in the next week that was like 12 days ago lol anyone got a clue when itll happen for 3g users uk?:p

Yeah they tweeted me to say that it had been delayed!!! Ill keep in contact with them and let you know!
 
any more news yet? lol 3g make me laugh they say they update but always delay after saying it
 
Nah, Last response from them was friday saying wont be long. Follow me on twitter if you like for updates as im allways tweeting them. Its @pjauncey

lol you know.....honestly ive never even been on the twitter homepage and after hearing about all the ### stuff i dunno lol can u give link direct to page lol:D
 
Can't say anything about the 3 network or 2.3.4, but I am on carphone warehouse firmware and there has been an update. It's still 2.3.3 but has changed from kpn to kpy and seems much faster, still has unlock lag though.

Anyone know why they keep delaying this update?
No other provider seems to have a problem putting it live...
 
er they actually were the first uk carrier to release 2.3.3 gingerbread. This is the 2.3.4 update - which most carriers in uk have not released.

No update by the way. They said that they were waiting on samsung to get back to them. As i said to Chismay ill let you know the moment i have info!

yeah pj is right 3g did apply the 2.3.4 before any others its just they delayed that update 3-4 weeks too lol but yeah your a star pj looking forward to it :D
 
I think 3 users waiting for this update may as well find a guide and do it themselves.

I have been in contact with 3 myself and at first I couldn't get a straight answer as to when or if there will be an update and am now being ignored completely it seems :)

its the half way thing we had at 2.3.3 if we do it manually we might not get any future updates (if theres gonna be any) also is 2.3.4 worth it? whats the main difference from 2.3.4 is there that many new features? lol ...we dunnnnoooooo
 
All the articles I have seen suggest the 2.3.4 update improves performance and battery life as well as sorting out a few bugs, such as the lock screen delay and random freezing.

I think any kind of performance boost in any phone has to be a plus, same with any battery improvement.
But for me, it would be worth it even if it only solved the random freezing, which I have suffered from a fair bit.

ive noticed live wallpapers....cripple the ace i dont know why but yeah hopefully that might be fixed.

the unlock lag.....meh i dont really mind a split second delay, i dont want when trying to open gallery thou lol

battery lie could be better but since 2.3.3 i charge each night and im cool for wifi/youtubeHD all day long at work

also im thinking gtalk is gonna become like the newer gmaps....huge and cant be moved to sd even with the command so most of us will probably revert the gtalk update anyway as we cant use the new feature. (videocalling)

2.3.4 has been rummoured to add more support to flash but how true this is i do not know.

Three have told me that Samsung aren't releasing the 2.3.4 update but will be releasing 2.3.5 "at some point".

If that does happen I'm wondering what the chances are of further updates afterwards (my experience of Samsung tends to be they don't support phones very long).

Does anyone know of a working, reliable tutorial for updating manually (not rooting)?

3 confirmed on twitter this week its 2.3.4.

they are ironing out bugs hence delay. By the way dont trust what 3 store employees say, they have no idea!
 
It was on twitter that they told me no 2.3.4 update

Though it seems strange they say Samsung aren't releasing 2.3.4 when I have seen countless articles about the OFFICIAL 2.3.4 release.

I notice 3 say it is down to when Samsung release updates but when I contacted Samsung, they said they release the updates by country and it's up to the carriers when they actually release them on to customers.

But in any case, doesn't look like it's happening and who knows when we will get the next update?

It's quite frustrating because I like this phone a LOT but it does have it's problems, most of which are fixed by an update I can't get :(
