Help any news on an update for the message notification bug?

Im takking about the problem where your phone does not ring, you get no notification and no message icon in the corner

A quick google told me that this is a common problem, and so i tried the common solution of switching to aeroplane mode and back but this only works for a couple of hours

When will there be qn update? Its driving me mad having to check my inbox constantany other solutions also appreciated

Which phone do you have, and this bug strictly concerning incoming calls??

Many of us don't have this bug, so that would be helpful in getting you to the right support crowd hereabouts.

Its a htc desire hd

Calls are fine. It happens with texts and facebook notifications

OK, I don't have the text bug on my Evo and I'm not a Facebook user. I'm moving you to the Desire HD forum, maybe they can help, but there'll be link from Android Lounge for others to follow.

Here's a thread about this issue. It includes a post I made about how I've resolved it. Another solution that some people have adopted is to download an alternative SMS application from the Market.

Maybe that's in part why I don't have the issue - I always use Handcent (free in the Market) - works great.

Cheers lads. I've downloaded HandCent and all is well

It does annoy me that I'm spending so much on a phone and they get one of the very key features wrong with no news of fixes. I send up to hundreds of texts a day so this was a huge bug for me

When spending that amount of money, I should be entitled to a working message app
