Any news on release for Hero Update?

please can someone use this thread for the latest news on when the update will be coming, as im very close to rooting my hero,but would prefer to see what the official update does thats different to the leaked roms.

There is no v1.5 leak.

All current third-party Hero ROMs are based on the 2.73.405.5 build which was leaked, and are available in various flavours. The vanilla HTC update is only available as an RUU package (Windows executable), but there's also a rooted version available as an update.zip. Then there is the MoDaCo custom ROM, which is also based on this build but has been further tweaked and contains various recompiled tools. It has gone through several releases over the past week, which is probably where you saw "V1.5".

I spoke to a very helpful chap (Pete) at HTC support this morning.

He said they had hoped the ROM would be out this week but now it looks like next week.

Sounds like there are a number of fixes.. the lag we already know about along with the screen randomly scrolling one way and the notification led / trackball glow fix amongst others.

I'm tempted to do the MoDaCo ROM but the official one is so close now there doesn't seem much point.

I think you guys might be disappointed unless your hero is unlocked - as the new software will have to be approved by the carrier - not sure if ou can just upgrade - I might be wrong.

I am too hoping it becomes available in UK. Is anyone aware where can we find the list of bug-fixes/ improvements they've done ?
