Help Any other help with WIFI issues

bugpack6

Newbie
I posted before. I am three weeks in on the ATT note 2. I had intermittent issues with WIfi. Did all the reccomended checks with power save, att smart wifi off, etc. Did two factory resets. I can not connect at all to my Apple Air port router.. Funny thing is, just this morning it connected to my work Wifi...
At times on the Apple wifi it has connected and then 10 seconds later it disconnects... ATT says to take it to a service center for a Refurb replacement. Not sure I care for a used phone after spending 299 on a new one.
Any further help?

I'm a new Note 2 owner myself, but have been using other Android phones on wifi for a couple of years. If you're able to connect to wifi with one router but not to another, it's the router, not your phone. There are many issues with routers that can cause problems. Sometimes just cycling your router can help by refreshing DHCP tables, connections, etc. Also if someone set up MAC filtering on the router you will need to add your phone's MAC to the router. If other new devices can connect to that router without problems, that probably isn't the problem. There are different levels of security, and your router may not be able to handle the newer phone with higher levels of security. I have seen other reports of problems with the Apple router, but don't recall which models.

I'd test on other routers at a few hotspots or a friends house before concluding it's your phone.

Thanks. I have powered on/off my Apple airport and still nothing. I'll check other wifi spots as well. I have no idea what to check as far as my home system on this phone. Other samsung products work fine on the wifi as well as my wife's phone.. Also. The Note 2 worked for the first two days without issues until I updated to 4.1.2

I am on Sprint with 4.1.2. I have Airport Extreme at home...amazing Wifi router BTW!! No issue here. N2 locks on reliably every single time. (Knock on wood!)

I guess I will just have to replace this POS phone. Nothing is working and it seems to be going out here at work now too. It will connect and then disconnect. I have to dial the
*#0011# and turn off the save option. Then cycle the wifi on and off. If I am lucky it connects...
