Any (Physical) Problems With Your Evos?

^^^Must be a common problem^^^

My Brand new phone stopped vibrating after 2 months.

POS "Advance" exchange phone I received had broken volume rocker.

2nd POS "Advance" exchange phone I got looked like it belonged to a 5 year old. Scratched up, bent speaker grill, red paint under kick stand was all scratched.

Figured I may have better luck at the local corporate store rather than phone support again.

Sprint guy tells me "Well it is a refurbished phone you know..."

To which I replied "Would you not be standing in a Sprint store too If you had received this POS to replace your brand new, 2 month old, zagg screen protected, otter box encased, mint, effing phone???"

They gave me a new phone. Being a light cell user, hopefully I get better mileage out of this one. And hopefully you heavy users have better luck than me.

Damn that sucks, I would be pissed too. I asked the sprint guys if they would give me a new screen protector since mine had one and they said they would put the new one over to this one and did a half assed job. No matter how much I complained they wouldnt give it to me though.

My battery door fits like junk. One side of the phone it sits flush, the other side its up about 1/32" of an inch or so. Not a lot, but enough for me to notice.

Make sure you go to a corporate store and not a third party reseller. Third party guys will give you the runaround. Corporate stores have Sprint techs on staff that will fix it while you wait.

Some third party stores have techs, too. Just be sure to go to a "Corporate Store" b/c the third party stores are a joke.

Launch day 002 HW that's been in the basic rubber case and a basic screen protector that were both available at the Sprint store on launch day, because I never got around to replacing them with something better. Turns out that would have been a waste of money anyway because after almost 10 months my EVO is still in perfect like-new condition. Not a scratch, chip, dent, no dust or light leakage, no operational issues, nothing. Couldn't be happier with it.

I'm still replacing it with the EVO 3D though :D

Had a second launch day 002 HW that was doing just as well until early Feb, but it was stolen. Insurance replaced it with an 004, and that's doing just fine, and isn't even in any kind of case.

edit.. mod took care of that one :D

While I'm here...

The Evo continues to be a pile of garbage, now its my turn, not the gf.

Earpiece is blown and it rattles when it vibrates in landscape. I seriously hate apple and preach against them, but considering an iphone at this point.

^yep...I've been saying EVO's are garbage since day 2...(got mine on day one :P)...I got bashed all over the place on this forum...now, the knowledge is commonplace.

^^^ good news for you... there are other phones makers on sprint.
epic.. and nexus S will be here soon. I hear we might even get some motos too

I've came across another problem on my Evo... the vibration thing kind of rattles instead of actually vibrating sometimes. Ahh...
Yeah, I remember getting thread crapped for returning my phone because of a bad vibrate. I was being 'unreasonable.'

Only time before people realize HTC makes garbage.

It's not that HTC makes bad phones, it's just that they make a LOT of different, thus, causing the qualities of the phone to be as good as expected. But all HTC wants is money, so they're happy as long as they make money.

Yup, been there with light leakage. Until the phone completely stops working or explodes in your hand, the general consensus around here is you should just put up with it.

After dealing with sprint/htc and warranty work for light leakage, I'm not sure if they feel this way because they actually think it's not a big deal, or just because its too much hassle to deal with sprint. I was already going to open my insured and warrantied phone to change a speaker just because I can't bring myself to deal with sprint anymore. Now I can kill 2 defects with one stone... sigh

I guess you guys think Samsung or Motorola products don't have flaws either?

Yes, every phone samsung has ever made has been absolutely perfect.

Seriously HTC is garbage. I'm sorry if that hurts your feelings enough to ask dumb questions, but its true. Light leakage was all over the tech news and forums for the EVO. HTC knew without a doubt it was a major problem. Look at the Thunderbolt threads - same shit, in fact probably worse.. I can see it in google images thumbnails...

^^
Seriously, Simply not true. I have 3 EVO 4G's in the household and all of which are flawless and I'd go as far as saying they are abused at times, especially mine. I take my EVO on hikes with me nearly daily in the rugged, dusty terrain of Arizona to stream music and GPS track my hikes, with no case (completely naked), and it has held up amazingly well. One EVO is from launch day, one from 3 weeks later, and another was just purchased. They have all been flawless. In fact, I would challenge you or anyone to find a structural flaw in the build quality. I have inspected them all with great attention to detail as I am the type to pay meticulous attention to detail, and all of the "same shit" you have mention is simply nonexistent in all three of my HTC experiences. I would challenge you, or anyone, to find a flaw any one of my EVO's, because it is truly not there. You are making a generalization, which is simply a "garbage" assessment. Due to the great build quality I have experienced with my HTC EVO's, I will be likely be purchasing the EVO 3D's without hesitation.

I, too, have been very impressed with my Evo and would not hesitate to get another. Especially if the alternative was a Samsung.

Single biggest problem I have right now is that the EVO is so awesome, I can't put it down. It's getting me in trouble at work. Also, I think the EVO has become self-aware. I sense its angry when I don't give it enough attention. Also, the video player crashes a lot for me and I don't know why. Seems to only happen with wma formatted videos. I resorted to using Summer Player and the videos I make don't crash anymore. I guess this is user error, but even in landscape, I still manage to hit every key but the keys I am looking for (thank God for auto-correct though). I wish in landscape, there would be one single line that you see for typed text, with the rest of the screen dedicated to the keys; making them insanely big to help my lack of dexterity.
