Any sd card backup tips/warnings?

I'm getting a bigger (16 or 32 gig) SD card for my DHD and I assume I need to copy all the contents of my old card across to the new one.

Is it just a case of select all on the old card and copy straight across? Or is there a bunch of stupid hidden/system files I need to find as well?

I just did this - from 8 to 16 gb card, just highlighted one file, control+A to select all then copy and pasted to 16GB card. no hidden files and all working correctly.
