Any solution for SUPER lag when making a call????

FYI, I was using Darchdroid for about a week, and almost every Rom I've run has been aosp, I can honestly say that prior to using darchdroid I never even had that dialer lag. I had about 10 seconds worth of it yesterday and decided to flash something else today. I didn't make up the part about it being a bug in 2.1 based Hero roms that causes this lag, I am also far from the first person to say it is a 2.1 issue, not an individual Rom issue. My advice at this point, to each his/her own...

My issues is that this has been an issue for many since the upgrade and HTC has not done a thing about it, which boggles my mind, you figure something that simple would have been fixed by now, but I guess wishful thinking, it is actually shameful

I down loaded ADW launcher and it seemed to fix it. It disables the HTC Sense which seems to be the problem. It also is supposedly close to what Froyo looks like. Tons of customizable options.

Yes, but no weather widget like the HTC one which is nice to have, and many other widgets missing also, would be nice if they HTC widgets would work on ADW

FYI I will download it again just to test the dialer for a day to see if it really get's rid of the lag, I had it weeks ago and there still was a lag and others have also said it was there, but hey maybe they updated something that I missed, so will let you know

From what I see it uses the same dialer, am I missing something, are you saying the dialer is not the issue but HTC sense is??

Unless you are using a different dialer it still has the lag, let me know

If you need widgets, just download them from the market. I downloaded the BT and wifi widgets. I also use the Weather Channel app instead of the HTC widget. Gives a 10 day forcast. The dialer is the same, but is much better at loading, dialing and allowing to dial after hanging up. It still isn't perfect, but much better. The processor is only so fast and i think that is part of it. I also think it is part of the lock screen having to be disabled prior to answering the call. Just my 2 cents.

The reason why I like the HTC one is it has the large clock, date, weather etc.. and location

Then you'll love Beautiful Widgets.

Took ADW off, did not make a difference for the lag, we will find a solution sooner or later
, I am determined to do so without rooting, LOL

In time, you will change your mind... lol

If you are referring to rooting you maybe right, but there are many that have and have the dialer lag, so thus the reason why I am not making the plunge yet, LOL I may change phones before I root it it keeps going like this

How many of you having this issue are using, either a case, or a cover, I find weird enough if I use my phone stock the call lag is not as bad, might just be my imagination, but today i will use it without the case, to see for the day, maybe it gets too hot with the case and then slows down the phone process, maybe grasping at straws but hey let see, others can chime in!!

The ONLY reason LauncherPro isn't my main Home, is because there isn't a mobile network widget that works as good as the HTC pre-instaleld one. I love how I can control the number of home screens on LP (because god knows I don't need 7, or even 5) and I like the bottom dock that it has.

Why can't a decent mobile network toggler be made for Android!?!?!?!?!

Well for when you take the plunge, I can tell you from personal experience that roms based on the .6 update are lag free, froyo is also lag free. I've never had bad call lag (5 seconds at most) but noticed its even better with these roms. I've also never used a case though I can't possibly imagine that having such adverse effects.

Well I am going to tell you, maybe I am loosing it, but since I took my case holder off, all day I have not had a lag, I will keep you all posted, I went for a month without a lag call once they replaced my phone, and then one day I almost dropped my phone so I decoded to put the case holder back, and then I started getting lag again, like I said maybe it is my imagination, but I will let you know.

From what I have found, lag is caused by a couple of things. One, the strength of the cell signal, the primary cause, and processor speed. If you were just using a program when a call arrives or you try to make a call right after you close a program, there will be lag, processor speed. Also if you don't close your programs properly that is another cause. A lot of people just go to home in the middle of a program without backing out of it.
Normally I have a cell tower 1 mile from my house. When it's up, I have no lag. The tower was hit by lightning and now I have basically no signal. The lag is forever, trying to lock on to a tower, and the same when the signal is weak. I am just running a stock phone with 2.1.
