Help any trick to tranfer files from phone while phone is unresponsive?

basically when i turn my sgs2 on and enter the pattern lock many force close boxes appear and its impossible to get rid of these and i cannot access anything.i was told this is due to some problem with corrupt files/software or something, and the only way round it is hard reset(factory reset)
so i was wondering if there are any tricks/tips or anything like that which will allow me to tranfer my pictures/music.... kies wont workk..

You need to be able to connect via USB but if you can't connect without going through the screen, it might mean you are stuck. There's also something called MTP connection which should connect once you connect the USB to the PC and if you have the right drivers. The MTP allows you to view the phone as a thumbdrive as well.

Maybe you can try to download Kies, so that if nothing else, you can get the latest drivers.

I have almost the same problem, the difference is that I have a Samsung captivate and my LCD screen is broken.

Kies should work as well with me?

As Russell commented months ago, try download and install KIES, get your phone connected and see if MTP is enabled (open up your computer's file manager to see whether your phone's internal memory and/or external SDCard are listed as regular computer drives) if they are listed - then you're in luck; just copy the files like a regular drive.

If they're not displayed, then try using KIES to see whether you can sync your data to your computer.

Otherwise, you're stuck in extracting personal data out from your phone's internal memory.
