Help Any way to change the font/color scheme?

Anyone else having problems with this Yes, I'm in my 40s and I do need reading glasses lol, but this is really doing my head in. I hate the lime green look. While pretty, it makes some things unreadable. Also, I have to make all my fonts "Extra Large" so I can read without my glasses. On the OG Evo, I was able to read everything.

I wish there was a way to change the type of font so that it wasn't so narrow. Maybe that would help.

Any tips?

Thanks.

Change the background to a suitable color, darker maybe as you say the green is not to your liking!

Are you referring to a certain app, or ... ? I'm not sure what lime green look you're talking about, nothing on my phone comes to mind as being lime green. I'm in my 40's also (I just said that in another thread too! :P) and my previous phone was the Evo Shift so this screen is a little bigger and even easier for me to read than on my old phone. I haven't had to increase fonts and only zoom in on web pages, otherwise it's all great for me.

Can you be more specific about where you're having trouble - or is it everywhere? Have you tried different skins to see if there's a better color combination?

I know alot of people who are affected by the resolution. People will get 22/24 inch computer screens and run them at 1024X768 which defeats the purpose of having such large screens. There is a chance that eventhough you get the extra .4inches that the screen resolution(hence smaller icons and fonts) is causing some of the issues. Unfortunately I am not sure if they make anything to help like an app to have everything zoomed by default. I am not aware of the Lime Green colors either. I checked a few of my apps and didn't see anything.

Using a dark background. 1st thing I did. :)

As for apps, I'm referring to Exchange and Gmail (gmail seems slightly better to read)

Here's examples of the green. Don't know if they will load because I never posted photos on here before. If not, I will do it later tonight when I come back.

You can control the online font size by going unto "menu" "settings" " accessibility" and choose what you feel comfortable with.

yep, I'm able to change the size of the font, but was wondering about type of font.

I see an app called Big Font in the market. It is free with alot of good reviews. Maybe you can give that a shot. Looks like it will increase font everywhere in Android. I havent downloaded to test it though.

just picked up a new evo 4g lte... is there a way to change the color schemes of text on the phone? or an app that will do that? thanks guys

i'd recommend joining the HTC hub and you can change the scheme in the personalize menu, dunno about text only though. I used to use GoLauncher and could customize everything about it. text and all

The background color on my apps is white. When I am in an app that requires me to check a box the green check mark is "so" faint that I can't see the check mark.

Is there a certain application in particular that you are having an issue with?

You might find a different HTC Sense 4.0 Skin more favorable. Applying a new skin can change the accent color used in checkboxes in system menus and default application layouts. By default you have 2 orange colors and a light blue color to choose other than HTC/Android green. There are more skins available through the HTC Hub.
Go to Settings -> Personalize -> Skin
The downside is that these skins will not really apply to all user installed applications.

If you are not liking Sense and the accent colors and want to try something different you may also like the idea of having a more customizable launcher where you can specify some of the colors in a different layout style. Check out this great thread:
AndroidForums.com | HTC Evo 4G LTE - What 3rd Party Launcher to use with ICS?

And lastly but not least, if you root your phone you will be able to find a wealth of other skins and customizations available to you which will allow you to change the entire system color scheme amongst other things.
