Help Any way to make android only check emails when you click the email app?

I really don't want get updates every 5 minutes when I get an email. I would still like them to be delivered but not notified

there is an option called notifications, if you dont want to be alerted just turn that off. i think its at the bottom of the list

good because i forsee it being annoying getting an email at 3am when im sleeping
