Any way to QUICKLY toggle from keyboard to Google Handwriting?

Is that true about the keyboard layout being designed to slow down typing mate? Qwerty?
That's what I was taught in school.

I believe I've seen that upheld.

But within the last two years -

However -

So, you have to judge for yourself.

I find it hard to believe that a machine for Morse code transcription was forced onto an unrelated industry and unrelated workforce, so I'm inclined to believe what I was taught.

Stuntman: Interesting. When you say that "the handwriting keyboard is just really slow... for me" do you mean that the phone has processing lag that slows the process or that you just can't write legibly enough on a pad that quickly? What kind of phone? Did you use a stylus or try in landscape mode?

I mean the process of writing on my phone is slower than typing. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3. I normally type and hand write in landscape orientation. In portrait, handwriting is slower because the screen is narrower. For larger words, I have to pause because I run out of space and have to wait for the word to scroll before I continue writing the rest of the word. Even in landscape, sometimes I have to pause for very long words.

The handwriting keyboard does make me want to use a stylus. I do not have one. If I get a chance, I would like to try the handwriting keyboard again with a Note or other phone with a stylus.

On my GS5 (5.1 inch LCD), there is basically no phone lag so the speed (or lack thereof) is all on me (and my writing is negatively impacted by the limited screen size).

I don't notice any lag caused by lack of processor power. I do have to pause in between words so that the word can scroll over and I can start a new word. The same goes for a very long word. I pause and let the word scroll and then continue writing.

I find it surprising that somebody can type faster than handwrite. (But I'm old and it's a new world. I have to test my kids.) Would the same be true of writing on a sheet of paper?

I can type on a typewriter (electric) way faster than I can handwrite on a sheet of paper. Back in high school, I had formal training in typing. My typing speed is probably around 65-70 words per minute.

I also actually print instead of handwrite. My handwriting is very bad. One high school teacher told me to learn how to print because my handwriting was not very legible. I've been hand "printing" instead ever since. My printing speed has increased and as a result, my printing legibility has gone down hill. :)
