Help Any way to unlock the phone other than side button

I'm coming from the iPhone and I must say. Not having a way to unlock the phone from the screen is bugging me. I use my phone a lot while it's lying on a flat surface and the side button isn't the most convenient way to unlock the phone
Is there any other way to unlock it?

I think if you throw it on the ground it auto unlocks.
