Any word on Gingerbread 2.3?

I can't wait. Any body heard anything since the rumors about it being released sometime last week?

G2x is running 200% better than it was after the first couple weeks. Love the phone and ready for the update!

Several people on xda-developers report having been told by T-Mobile customer service representatives that the release will be on or shortly after June 15, although it's not clear whether that is the bug-fix or the Gingerbread release. It's also fair to say that there is a lot of skepticism about that date.

I was told by TM rep that "an update is coming, but it is not Gingerbread". She didn't know when Gingerbread would come, ie, "we have not information on that".

T-Mobile G2x to arrive two weeks after release date of HTC Sensation, a source claims.

We’ve been hearing rumors about the Gingerbread upgrade of T-Mobile’s first NVIDIA Tegra 2 powered smartphone, the T-Mobile G2x manufactured by LG arriving “earlier,” but none arrived.
At last (if our sources are accurate), the phone’s OTA Gingerbread update will arrive 1-2 weeks after the official release date of the HTC Sensation 4G, T-Mobile’s new Android smartphone with dual-core processor.
The announced release date of HTC Sensation 4G is June 15, so if the information is legit, then the vanilla Gingerbread for G2x will arrive this month.Apparently, the carrier promised the update coming by summer.
According to our ninjas, the phone’s Gingerbread operating system will deliver better internet experience, battery management and other features of the popular Google operating system update. The phone was released last April, pre-installed with FroYo 2.2.2.
T-Mobile G2x by LG is considered by the Android community as one of the powerful smartphones of 2011, challenging the newly launched HTC Sensation 4G with 1.2 GHz processor, and even the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S2 with the Korean manufacturer’s Exynos processor.

Here is my Feedback. Long story short; Acc a TM Tech suopport rep. They ARE already rolling out Gingerbread in certain areas. Since May 25th to be exact. ;) when ever its our turn we would get word before the update will take effect. I'm VERY anxious :D, like most of us I bet, to get the Ginger bread and Firmware update. Summer begins mid next week so I'm hoping I'll get mine SOON. I'm fed up with the freezing of the phone, ghostly weird stuff, spontanious reboots and what not else... From what I've heard the 2.3 Vanilla Gingerbread has a lot of fixes, speed in several areas goes up and battery life should enhance too, which is about time as I cannot use my phone one whole day, read 8 hours, or more before it needs to be plugged in. In the long run we just have to wait and see.

So are they deliberately rolling Gingerbread out in areas where there's no civilization and where people have no friends?

It's been rolling out for a month and no one knows anything about it?

I'm guessing the rep is completely confused.

I hope you have some big boots to make it through all that BS.

It will happen after Tmo has sold enough Sensations. Direct competition. Keeping thinking HTC isnt aware and asked Tmo to wait.

I should have payed a little more and went VERIZON.

I feel your pain with T-mobile.

Once the update comes out, I think that it is going to solve A LOT of the problems with this phone... At least that's what i have been told and that is what I am going to believe... I will admit that in the beginning I was very dissapointed by this phone but as I used the device more and more, I feel like this device almost grasped the way I use my phone and now runs a lot smoother and does a lot more of the things it is expected. Still, from the beginning you should never have the amount of problems that this phone is having.
Lets just hope t-mobile gets there act together with the HTC sensation. The G2x was the first of its kind, maybe it would have been smart for t-mobile to turn the phone on and test it before they put it on the shelves, then maybe they wouldn't be knee high in all the B.S. regarding this device.

sounds like they are finally realizing how ticked off this probem has made customers like us. this whole situation has been rediculous. never in a million years would i have thought i was gonna have to deal with problems like this after purchasing a brand new phone. i used to always get my cell phones on craigslist and the one time i decide to go through tmobile and do the upgrade i get shot in the butt.

SMH tmobile... SMH...

I have a sensation but the wife has a g2x (super fast phone by the way). I can only imagine when this phone does finally get gingerbread it will only be faster. The wait should be worth it. It could be worse, remember the my touch,g1, vibrant, etc.. those phone were in limbo much longer than the g2x. Its only been a few months and they are already testing the update.. so that means barring any setbacks you guys are less than a month away from the update.. remember it is not all tmo, some fault has to go on LG as well.

I don't think they are customizing it. I think it's gonna be stock vanilla android I know alot of people like this phone for that reason. I head LG's UI sucks anyway. They just want to make sure they do it right. And I would rather it take some time and have it be really god rather than rushing out an update and it not be right then we will have to wait for another update. My phone is still by far the best phone I or any of the people.I know have ever had even with all the bugs.

SERIOUSLY stop posting TMO links it crashes every explorer version I use. even crashes the phones browser. There has got be other sites that have this news the website designers make it so the site works....

I don't use Internet Explorer, but that link doesn't crash any of the browsers I do use: Firefox 5.0 on my Windows laptop and both the stock browser and Boat Browser on my G2x (just tested all three). Must be something specific to your environment. When you say "crash," what specifically do you mean? The exact symptoms might be helpful in diagnosing your problem.

TMO has some script that crashes the window each time it it opens. It causes the computer to get really hot fans come on as well then force closes the window and rinse and repeat. it never can load it to read it.
