Anybody know what this is?

So I've had the warp 4g a couple weeks now, (unrooted cause there seems no easy way to make a backup of stock) but i noticed that flat thing on the inside of the rear cover (it has copper connectors, so I'm guessing it uses the battery). Without the battery cover the phone works fine, so what the hell is this?

Thanks for the reply. I figured it was something like that. Tbh, I'm wary about rfid stuff and have been considering pulling it. Has anybody else removed theirs?

you can shut down the nfc when the phone is on so it is not neccisary to have the back cover off.
